I have noticed recently that it is impossible many times to manuever through FChat, because it has become impossibly slow.

I have found that responding to a thread now cause 2-4 duplicate responses to be posted.

I have tried access on two different computers, and the results are the same.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Happens sporadically - maybe the Atari 400 server is rewinding the memory tape or something.

I think it is all of the corrosive posts in the UK section affecting the disc...

Honestly, I have not had any problems at all. Compared to the Range Rover Forum that I also follow ( not for long though, I just got rid of that overpriced unreliable piece of $#iT) F Chat always pops up immediately. Searches might take 3-5 seconds but I am still impressed on how fast everything works. Speaking of Ataris, I am on a Commodore 64K.

I'm surprised to find someone as young as you who remembers that!

I'm 56 and I remember buying one for my kid!

On the subject - I can't tell any difference. It's probably a function of your ISP.

I think it's a bottle neck somewhere out to CA. Mine gets frequently held up. Plus I've noticed others from CA mentioning it.

Well, I really hadn't noticed too much and the load averages didn't seem out of wack, but I checked some other things and something caught my eye. I'll keep you updated. Thanks.

How about the TI-99? Massive cassette tape storage system :)

I'm in Denver and it locks up or becomes slow for me every once in a while.

If I'm posting, end up just deleting the extra posts.

Maybe mine is so quick is because I live 2 miles from our celebrity moderator and race star Rob Lay. I do not know where the server is, but I am probably the biggest lurker in history- I read F Chat more than my personal e-mail. It is faster than Yahoo for me here in Texas.

Server is just in Dallas, so still not too far. Are you the Dr. with black 360 that came out a few times to karting several years back? Age seems right, but I didn't think you had so many Ferraris and thought the 360 was being exchanged for one of those Audis. :)

I'm in DFW and have noticed a little slowdown, nothing tragic but noticeable.

I did have a black/tan 360 and traded it in on a Porsche Twin Turbo after two F1 transmission failures. I do miss the karting days, those were fun.

You are a good man, McGee!

Maybe being in Texas there is just a bit too much oil in the server, and it may be coagulating a bit!
