    SF,

I would advise you (and others in the same waters) to keep your car here rather than exporting it, if you want the best value when (if) you decide to sell.

The 190 SL and pagodas are going for silly prices here not because of perceived values but because of scarcity - The buyers are not fools nor ignorant but they have no other choice.

You can actually import a RHD Daytona or an E-type & register it but under a classic plate ie 28 days.

There are quite a few news reports about classic plate owners hoping to convert back but LTA has steadfastly said no way. I hope LTA sees the folly of all this - afterall we already lost F1.

Oh yes classic plate....btw, are those cars under classic plate subjected to COE? Other than the 5% GST, do we have to pay import duties? Maybe we can buy some really nice ones, register it then keep them in JB. Might be better than the Langkawi scheme :)

I believe the largest UK classic car meet is coming up these few days.

The Viper? SRT10 or GTS? I want to go and see! I have seen the Ford GT in the Ford, Peugeot and Land Rover showroom. I heard that Dodge is making a right-hand drive Viper for an Asian buyer, but they did not state the country. Hope it's Singapore. The only possibilities would be Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Philippines, Thailand, HK or Taiwan. The Caliber is in but how about the Nitro. Heard the Viper arrived last week. Chilli Red......Beautiful! These American muscles are superb!

Buy Canon Digital cameras! If not buy SLR. Our Canon S50 5 megapixels is doing a good job. Personally I do not like to take night photos as the light will be reflected onto the car. But who would not take a photo of a rare car just because of that. I have night pics of Ferrari 355 Berlinetta, Bentley Continental GT and Carrera ( All Taken In HK ).

Why don't you guys post your pics at www.exoticspotter.com ? !

Anyone on board experienced with both tiptronic, Maserati, E-gear & Ferrari's F1? How different are they in terms of performance? I understand there's a S$16K option for the TiptronicS with better shift times, anyone tried it? The problem with Porsches is they use shift buttons & sometimes, you accidentally press them when making turns & they won't change to paddles anytime soon. The new GT3 & RS are still using classic gearlevers but the Turbo has an enhanced tip system. If I'm buying a new sportscar, the F1 style would be appealing. They are simply remarkable on the track esp for folk like me who can't drive well, look @ the Sepang track day. The Stradales were able to brake later & downshift so fast @ turn 1.

A few friends have probems with 360F1 on very very slow speed eg. negotiating humps or up-slope, the car simply dies off.

I thought the horn buttons on the F430 steering wheel might get accidentally hit but shift buttons??? isn't that dangerous?

the 360F1 is considered technically a manual car so not surprised if it dies off. I've had a automatic car die off on me when moving off and it wasn't even a slope.. left me scratching my head.

I think a digital cam with image stabilizer should help improve night shots. Although I personally use a tripod with my non-SLR digital cam.

I think I mentioned this before but its less to do with the F1 and more with driver confidence.

I think its mainly new owners who have experienced this and because new owners tend to slow down "excessively prudently" (which I believe is the term used - just joking RO1) when negotiating humps or up-slope and this causes the car to stall. However, with more use, the owners have a better feel for the car's power and can gauge better how much to throttle. Usually, you would throttle a little for example just before going up slope.

F360s are also said to be jerky and twitchy but again this is down to use. Many car magazine journalist report the car as jerky and twitchy but this is because they do not have long term use of the car.

In case there is any doubt, I am not extolling any special knowledge as an owner and although my views are based on my own Ferrari usage and the f1 gearbox, it is a fact that for all cars, you get a better feel for the car after prolonged use and can better gauge the size and power of the car.

Is the completely automatic QP here and has anyone driven it ? I am eager to know how it compares to duo select.

Personally, I like the duo select because I can do something with the cars that S class & 7 series cannot but I have to reserve judgment until after trying the new full automatic.

Only a fraction of coe and a fraction of road tax but full duties (110% arf and 30% custom duties) are all payable.

Are LHD malaysian registered cars allowed into Singapore ? I don't see why not as a matter of principle if other malaysian cars are allowed in but I do not know. Anyone knows ?

Is the best of the range determined by the price ?

    Boxster S / Cayman S vs 911

    F 430 vs F 599 / F 612

    M3 vs M5 vs M6

    SLK 55 vs SL 55

Like the red Enzo in Malaysia? If Pagani Zondas and Koenigsegg CCRs are allowed in Singapore, why can't the Enzo be? Anyone?

There is a shop selling Ferrari aparrel in Changi Airport Terminal 1 at the departure hall.

If I could get an F430, I would get the auto-clutch-manual transmission. Easier to drive.

What I do not like about the F430 is where the horn buttons are place. You are likely to squeeze them when bracing for hard braking. SFChallenge, do you own a Testarossa and a 348tb? What is the difference between a 512tr and a Testarossa?

Erh erh, looks like everybody's got to pay unless his voucher includes free parking :)

There was a charity angel though, won a few bids including the Panerai Ferrari basic model & it's for a good cause.
