This thread is a materpiece. It would be more aptly named the "Rorschach" Thread. As a result of a Z-06/430 race, we witness class struggle, wine preference, quality of fecal matter, sexual prowess, class (employment) struggle, national pride, psyche analysis, and, on occassion, mentione of car building materials and performance. It appears we represent significant educational and cultural differences, but we all have in common one thing, our inability to let the other guy (maybe a lady is here somewhere) have the last word. Best to all
Get a life . Want to make a vette worth a sh@t , put a Ferrari logo it . Enough said . Do you have either or neither ? Corvettes are made by whom , nothing like have a 75 k car that cavalier parts are sold at the same counter , GET IT .
See- now that's exactly the kind of comment that's completely unecessary. I posted earlier in the thread (post #194 I believe) to attempt to make a point that true car enthusiasts are true car enthusiasts, plain and simple. Decent people with a common interest in cars are all in the same boat, at least to a degree. That when you put aside things like status, income, tax-bracket, education level, etc..., and look at the bottom line- we're all alike in many ways. Though people like yourself (and I'm not pointing you out because your a Ferrari guy- I'll call out guys on Vette/other forums for this just the same) are truly an embarrassment to everybody. Your statement above does more than enough to proves that you severely lack in the dept of common decency, and appear void of any rational, intelligent thinking. You are the snob (in ANY car group) that most people do not care to associate with, and I sympathize with the other members of this forum for having to deal with someone like yourself.
i totally agree with you. i used to hate the modified hondas with lawmower sounding exhausts and body kits for example and then i guess i started growing up a little and it dawned on me that while their means of enjoying cars is much different then mine they share a common interest in car enthusiasm, and spend there time, energy and money to do so, so that is awsome. Competition between cars and comparisons are great but being a snob is not. So show some respect to other people and what they do because without them competing with you, your cars would never be as good.
I have Lingelfelter 620hp C6 Z06 and can tell you for sure that my car is faster that CGT and Murci. In 1week i`ll finish my interior and then we`ll compare.... Here is my race vs CLS K4 650hp http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b311/EvoHks/?action=view¤t=ME.flv My speedometer: http://s22.photobucket.com/albums/b311/EvoHks/?action=view¤t=0-180.flv
Way to resurrect a thread from the dead! haha In regard to the original poster and video, I love the C6 Z06, its a great car, but im sure as has been said already in this thread (I havent read it all) there is MUCH, MUCH more to a ferrari than its speed/power. IMO, in the greater scheme of things, the speed and power is one of the less important aspects of the car.
Agree with you. I love ferrari too. Z06 faster on the straight, faster on the track, faster anywhere.. just add coilovers and good tyres to Z and you will never reach it But if we are talking about comfort,as for me, i found inter. of Z much more comfortable than any ferrari. Steering feel,Throttle responce, stock Z poor interior -this is another story. I invested 20K in my Z and its KILLER CAR!! 620hp 80Nm +coilovers(perfect handling)+Leather interior = My dream Anyway respect to ferrari
I love how all this goes around. Take aZ06 or any vette around a racetrack and do 55 laps.hard. Then take the same F430 and any Ferrari and do the same 55 laps. All cars being equal...in all respects. 88 Vettte .....91 ZR1 88 328.......91TR I will guarenttee you , you will have to pick up enough bolts off the track to build a go cart after the vette goes through. The quality of the vette is just not there for that type of race. In the same breath, the ferrari with its little high revving engines were never made to do donusts all day and do quater mile runs. Its not a muscle car. Ferrari was built for going around a race track...the vettes were not. Try it...you'll see what i mean. Apples and oranges boys !! Both should be in your garage.
Maybe we cac change the name of this site to.......... C6Z06BEATSF430WHILEBEINGINTHEWRONGGERAE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.COM The Z06 is a pur american muscle car with amazin performanse, especially at the price point.........The F430 is..............well................................................................................................................................................ It's..........a Ferrari. Its got it all, performance, stunning lines, reliability, quality etc...... There is NO comparison......The vette is a great performance car in the hands of a VERY skilled driver. The F430 is so much more enjoyable to drive in every way. So what if you can stab the pedal and get a jolt?? If the 430 is not getting you off then god bless you. take 100 guys put the keys to both cars in front of them.....say take your pick.......C'mon what are you gonna drive? and dont give me the "I'd sell the Ferrari and buy 3 Z06's"......Thats not part of the game......Take your pick.......Z06 or F430........It's a no brainer
I just noticed and was surprised to see this thread "resurrected", yet again. We need to change this thread to say, "mine is bigger than yours"? Dr. Frued should fit some of us in his schedule (wherever he might be these days), to address what is clearly "car envy". To some, the prospect of a less expensive faster car appears to be truly threatening to some of us. Some lucky few can buy all the cars they want and the rest of us have to make choices. Once we make a choice we announce to the public who we are, and in there lies the rub. Which millionaire among us buys a Kia no matter what the gas mileage or gaurantee? If money were no object would you buy a BMW or a Hyndai? However, for many, gas mileage, maintenance warranties, etc. do make a difference. For others, who have a few dollars and want speed, they may choose a "fast" car without concern for other amenities (Viper is a good example)? As someone said about throwing stones, for that one among us who could care less about "image", why not buy a "sleeper", say a Camaro, and drop a big motor in it? It would be fast but no one would know it until race time. But, you don't care if they know or not, because you have that inner peace and confidence that does not require anyone else to know what is hiding in your..uh...car. Many years ago I owned such a car. You know what I found myself doing? I kept revving the motor because I couldn't stand that the guy next to me didn't know how "powerful" I was. My appointment with the good doctor is pending. Best
Very True. If you only have $80K to spend than the Z06 is a good choice although for the same money you can buy a new Viper and have Exclusivity. If you have more money to spend than there are many better choices. The "Only" comparison that can be made between a F430 and Z06 is with a stop watch. The F430 is worth the extra money hands down. Your absolutely right about the 100 guys theory. The Ferrari driving experience is so much more satisfying.
Yeah, baby, 'Vettes rule. I notice Ferrari is having a lot of trouble moving cars off the lot, while GM can't keep up with demand.
I like all the comments about the difference in $$$. What about the difference in cubes? How about about an Enzo or a 599 with a 6 litre engine, or an FXX with a 6.2 litre engine against the 7 litre chevy? Not everything relates to money, sometimes it's the ingineuity of getting over 100 hp per litre and reliability from a normally aspirated motor. I don't see GM building 3 litre 850hp F1 motors and using the research on the street. Only Chrysler through MB Mclaren has any engine research that is not hot rodding. When is America going to wake up and see we are being beaten at the game we dominated by better research and engineering? We're still trying to push OHV engines. We really are the NASCAR nation.
