Given how MS still has "game", I can clearly see him coming out of retirement real soon. Most likely another team will make an offer he can't refuse ($100mn from Toyota or Honda?).

Knowing how competetive MS is he'll want to prove that he can win even with a lesser team.

Shades of Michael Jordan, Holyfield and Foreman in him.

Yes, he will return to F1. but not as a driver. I think he really did hang up the helmet for good.

Yeah, Mike is done, but today he sure as hell gave everyone a beating they will never ever forget. If any one of those drivers on the track think they could have done the magic Michael did today, they are severely mistaken. His laps were minimum +1 secs faster than anyone in the race at all times. He set two lap records on consecutive laps!! Alonso's fastest lap was around 1:13.420 while Mike's fastest lap was 1:12:108. Phenomenal driver. He will not be forgetten.

He won't come back in my opinion. If he does it will be next year or in 2008. (last minute decision)
You never know, he can change his mind and continue for 1 more year. MS joins McLaren...looking for revenge against Alonso.
It's a long shot, it won't happen .....but I would like to. :)

And I can't see him coming back in 2009+.

    Hi Tony
It would seem to be a logical transition in his life to work for Ferrari developing the F1 cars, wouldn't it? He could still shake them down, advise them & have his great experience working with the team thereby not go to waste.
How about that-- a Brazilian winning in Brazil!??! Bet your family was excited.
It will be very interesting to see who comes to the forefront next year, Felipe or Kimi. Earlier I would have thought Kimi, but Felipe has shown some driving skill this year, too.
    Just my 2 cents.

    i fully agree.

toyota?? u gotta be kidding. look what did they in brazil. got a front row quali just to impress sponsors, and then they packed up after that. given the team's budget, it's a shame they never achieve anything right yet.

smaller teams like Spyker and Williams can show them the way.

I really really can't wait to see who gets the better between these 2.

Massa is no slouch, he will prove that he can do better than Kimi.

    Game on!

In my opinion, for Massa, a prince, Michael was/is the king. For Massa, Kimi will be just another prince. As Rodney Dangerfield once said, "no respect, he gets no respect." Massa will not respect Kimi as he did Michael. Massa's true nature will come out in 2007. Today, in Brazil, was just a sneek preview. Massa will want to show he is nobody's #2.

The good thing is that these two will push each other to the front.

Yeah, I just can't understand why they don't achieve anything, in view of the colossal budget they have. It must be internal politics.
When they were building the team, they changed the drivers (Salo, McNish) after one year, they they took De Matta, who had no experience whatsoever of F1, then they sacked him, and changed Panis too. Now Ralf and Jarno, 2 good but average drivers, don't do much in terms of results.
The technical staff has been changed time and time again, so has the team manager.

Just look how Sauber BMW does with less money in a short time.
I can't see Toyota going anywhere.

I don't think Micahel will return to F1 as a driver, I'm still having false hope that Ferrari will return to LeMans with Shumi at the helm of the car.

This is what Jean Todt said in an interview after the Brasilain GP:

"We have been building, creating such a fantastic collaborationship, even if Michael will remain in the family, which will be a big asset to the company, for all the team, but it will definitely be different."

So he will stay at Ferrari? I'm not sure if it's a question by Todt or an observation.

    Best, Peter

p.s. they will announce in a couple of days how the new team will look for the future.

simple. it's just that because it's a management problem. u can have all the resources in the world, but u need the right people with the right skills to run the game. ;)

IMO, if toyota dun get a win within the nect 2-3 seasons, they should pack up and leave.

Interesting how some say that MS is "happy in retirement". Do we really know what he's thinking? I thought the rumor mill had him being pushed out by Luca?

Very hard to see one of the most competitive athlete just shut it down while he is still at very top of his game. He was the best driver in brazil by a wide margin.

Imagine the colossal PR benefits to Toyota or Honda if he joins them.

Would love to see him back in F1 as a driver, after the departure of JPM the sport has lost two of its best personalities.

Kimi, weber, button, etc...all are quite non-descript.

F1 needs more brash young guns and senior statemen to school them.
