All 355 Spiders are gorgeous, but the green isn't near the top of my list. Just my opinion. Looks like it's trying to be British...

I don't really like nor dislike it. It just is to me - wouldn't necessarily get one or not - I'd prefer other colours such as azzuro california, or a black or silver car with red interior. A word of warning though, here in the UK Verdi have had a green 355GTS for sale for ages - almost 2 years IIRC. Their site now says it is under offer, but at the incredibly low price of £35,000 for a 19,000 mile car.

By way of comparison, they have the following 2 cars:
They have another 355 GTS in red/crema/red carpet (the most popular colour scheme for 355 in the UK) with 15,500 miles, same year as the green one for £48,500. They even have a recently sold LHD Euro import (Yellow/black, higher mileage - 54,000kms) whcih was listed at £34,000 - only a £1,000 difference with a RHD car in the UK is practically unheard of - if you are going to buy a green 355, make sure you don't overpay for it in the first instance!

I have seen a metallic green Ferrari in person and it is very nice. It does not go with the idea of a Ferrari to me, and that is the reason that most people stay away from this color Ferrari. Very difficult resale.

I agree; I think the color looks nice on the car. However, it wouldn't be my personal choice.

Personally, I like it. But buying it is a bit like buying a car with salvage title... You get it cheap, but when you go to sell, you will sell cheap. As long as you realize that, then resale isn't an issue. Arguably as time goes by, the non-red and salvage title cars will hold their (low) value better than red/tan clear title cars.

Why do you think this? I would think the population of clear title cars would decrease over time and retain more of their value as collectors go for the best ones (355 isn't a collector car yet, but in 10-15 years it might be).

Looking at the 308s, which are now old in anyone's book, the low-mileage, clear title cars in red or black are getting expensive.

(Not trying to be obstinate - you piqued my curiosity.)

In the long run, I agree that the most seeked collector cars are the ones that remain true to their original, or planned color(s). But, there will always be a particular buyer that wants a "different" color, and will buy it at a reasonable price and not necesarely under market as such color would be rare and he/she wants it.

My 355 is a similar green with a blue metallic tint to the paint, I wanted something different after having 2 red Ferraris, the car always gets alot of compliments just from the color as its unusual for a Ferrari to be green, most people say they have never seen a Ferrari that color and are amazed with the car, you don't get the typical stereotype of being the red Ferrari owner, mine has a tan interior which contrasts it well

I specifically wanted this car and flew 1/2 way across the country because of the color and let a few very minor issues pass because I knew I would never find another in the same color. Too each his own

Yes. There will be always somebody that wants the "odd" color. Personally, I think the green works as well as any other color, if it suits your personal preferences.

In europe only hunters drive green car as it is the hunting color. If I was a big time european hunter, I would settle for this... but for now I enjoy my red/tan spider!

I think that as a car gets older, its title status matters less. Consider a Lusso - salvage or clear they are worth almost the same. A salvage but otherwise sound 355 goes for around 35K (last one I saw went for 37K), and a clear title one starts at around 60K.

I figure that in 5-10 years the difference as a percentage will close, regardless of where the mean value heads. There will always be exceptions, and these are likely to be the Fiorano cars with less than 4K miles, and perhaps the 95s with similar mileage (first and last of the series).

There are of course other issues to consider such as engine wear. It may well turn out that any 355 still running in 10 years will be worth pretty much the same due to their rarity!

Just my thoughts.... worth what you paid for them :)

I think that is a classy and very beautiful car.

The seller asks high prices for their cars.

They were not responsive to me last Dec when I test drove a pozzi/tan F1 360 with 11K+ miles.

Called back 3-4 times to discuss the car, and they did not respond. There was a band on the top of each H/L they told me their detailer could remove! Baloney. The glass was permanently damaged and they did not want to replace it!

Nothing in the current e-Bay ad indicates anything about services being performed, and I doubt they would tell you much.

They have had 5 offers to date all of which they declined.

There is another green/tan for sale by a Ferrari dealer, but I can't remember who it was. I believe it's Texas or Oaklahoma.

You might be better off dealing with this other dealer.

The only problem with the 355 in 10-15 years time..........will be trying to find a good 355. :p:p

True, already seeing this with 308's -- lots of worn out or not-so-original cars.

Not so. Green was a traditional race car colour in Britain and was, and still is, a popular colour here for sports cars and others.

Incidentally, there aren't too many hunters in Europe these days. ;)

Yep- as evidenced by many British manufacturers offering colours such as "British Racing Green", "Brooklands racing green" (Jaguar = solid paint), "Jaguar Racing Green" (Jaguar = metallic), "Aston Martin Racing green" (Aston - paler than most racing greens, almost like an almond green)...

Most green cars in the UK are however driven by OAPs these days... although of the huntin', shootin', fishing set, there are plenty of owners of green Range Rovers, etc.
