    Speaking of flames I know I will get flamed for posting this thread without pics. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me the other night when following my buddy home.

    He has a 1996 355 with test pipes and a Tubi. On the freeway the car shoots massive twin flames out the tailpipes when he redlines it in 3rd and shifts to 4th. He did it repeatedly and it shot flames every time. It was the most awesome thing to see at night. You can obviously hear the car as he accelerates and then he shifts. There is no "pop" or backfire noise just the white flames shooting out the twin tailpipes (a la race car!).

    I plan to follow him with a video camera this weekend and will post the video. Anyone else with this setup experience this before?

    i don't have that setup on my car, but i must say...thats freaking awesome....:)

    My 355 has the same tubi with test pipe set up and to my knowledge does not shoot flames. I would love to see video of your friends car.

    Now........let me get this right...........

    In California,
    No Catalytic converters,
    During fire season,
    Shooting flames out the pipes?

    I dont even want to know what that ticket might cost! or worse, the CHP might just "Rodney King" him, right there on the freeway!

    But yeah, I want to see the video!

    I'm sure I've heard of F355's spitting flames before - IIRC the guy who used to write about his in Evo mentioned it, and I'm pretty sure Clarkson mentioned it when he used to own a 355.
