FXX with mirrors??

i've just noticed that this FXX has mirrors..... odd

any explanation why??

no, i believe owners were given the option of ordering their FXXs with mirrors

 

It was an option, although this is the only known one with them. There's a rear-view camera for that purpose..

 

It seems the mirrows would be redundant, as the wing extensions seem to block any view they have.

 

I think that looking in a rear view mirror is much more common habit than looking in a dashboard monitor. I'm surprised that there aren't more with mirrors.

By the way, someone mentioned that it may be a converted Enzo. No FXX was converted, they are all purpose built FXX's.

Could just be a personal preference too. Perhaps they thought the thought of a car without side mirrors looked odd and wanted them.

 

We got into this with P 4/5. Rear view cameras don't give you the same vision as mirrors. We tested both. Also properly designed mirrors can actually help aero by smoothing drag vortices's much like winglets on aircraft.

Being able to comfortably see makes a car much easier to drive and therefore faster especially in longer races.
