Wow..............0-300km (187.5mph) in 18.2 seconds for the Bugatti..........that's incredible.

 

Jeez, aside from the Bugatti, the Ferrari blows everything away from 0-200km/h, 0-250km/h, and 0-300km/h! Way to go Ferrari!

 

The LP640 is a joke !

 

VEry impressive. Does anyone know how many will hit our shores in the first year?
I heard the first one on ebay was $295k OVER msrp!!! Doubt that it sold as I expect most of the big time buyers can get one quickly anyway.

 

Pretty much makes the SLR and Vanquish obsolete. Quite impressive that it beat the Murcie and Ford GT as well.

I want one.

While I don't think it's a joke -- I'm hardly likely to dump my F599 position for the LP640 because of its 5km/h top-end (or any other factor for that matter). The simple fact is, the desirability of the car is a very personal thing. I agree though that the F599 is an absolute BEAST, but likely in a very different way that you do...

 

The market and premiums over MSRP will be the judge .....

 

by more desirable in exotic terms, the lambo is an all out, mean exotic in all its glory. The 599 is a beast of a GT.

 

I certainly wouldn't call the Lambo a "joke" but it does seem that the 599 is a tad bit faster car from 60mph ->. Which is not very surprising considering the similiar power output of the two and that the Lambo is a 4WD which doesn't help at all after the initial start of acceleration, instead it only adds weight and reduces whp.

 

For comparison, an F1 car will do it in around 12 seconds.

^^ 12 seconds is average, it depends on fuel load, aero setup, tyres, suspension setup aso.

I was really wondering if the LP640 would be faster than the 599, but luckily its not. I really don't think you can say the Lambo is a joke either, but I would take a 599 over it any day. As for desireability the Lambo may be more desireable but I bet they wont be drawing premiums like 599 which makes me question that hypothesis.

 

I do not desire to have an LP640.
I desire intensely to own an F599, and the wait is killing me.

ergo, the F599 is much more desirable.
one look at the premiums being demanded for the F599, at least in the US, the market would seem to agree with me..

 

The Veyron and the LP640 are the only ones with better acceleration. Lets see...Lamborghini knows they can't do a V12 better than Ferrari on their first shot, so they had to try again after four years to be better by a tenth of a second...and well the Veyron has 4 extra cylinders, and 4 more turbochargers...so it doesn't count.

The 599 outperforms the LP640 by 1 second at every speed, save 0-60 (due to the Lambo's AWD).
