I'm pissed! In the American sense of the word, not the English. One of my favorite beers is John Courage. I just love it. I work my way through a handful of cases each year and much to my dismay discovered that my favorite beer is no longer being imported. Turns out that Scottish Newcastle(the importer) felt it was competitive with Newcastle Brown so they chose to discontinue importation(dumbass decision as I buy Brown as well). So, the question is...where can I get John Courage now? Will I have to have it smuggled in like freaking cigars? Or is there another, more legal way to still obtain my beer of choice? Just to be on record, I'm done with Scottish-Newcastle products. S-N, go F yourself!
man, you gotta go back to college then! lol, we go for whatever is cheap, occasionally springing for the nice stuff. nothing like some natural light to get your weekend started. lol-it's kind of sad, but my favorite beer is called camo and i can only find it in gas stations. even funnier imho, is that i had 3.00 gas station champaign last weekend and was astounded to find it being actually fairly good!
This is really interesting. I am doing a research project in my senior seminar class, I'm a bus. mgmt. major. Our thesis is "Both age and income affect a persons choice of beer." That is the cut down version, but basically it is our belief that as you get older and earn more money, you'll purchase more expensive and better tasting beer than when you first start drinking (ie. college aged).
How about this, I did my share of underage drinking in high school, EVERY weekend in college with various weeknights thrown in depending on exams (Theta Chi) After I finished school I never drank on a weeknight for obvious reasons but I didn't retire the weekends out with the guys until about 5 years ago. All just the "typical" binge drinking since I rarely drink at dinner and do not even keep any at home. Just not interested unless I head out with the guys. Anyway, all of that and believe it or not I have NEVER had one single swallow of beer. Not one. Not ever. Period. I just never liked the smell to begin with so I would refuse to drink one. Well that just turned into a habit and now at 38 I still haven't tasted one. I won't even eat beer battered onion rings. It's true even though most people don't believe me. 38 years and not a drop has passed my lips.
This is the way pap likes to roll! Cold beer for everyone!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'd say generally that's true. Although I actually normally drank Rolling Rock through my college years. Unless of course at keg parties or bar specials.. I also like Guiness and some IPAs, hell I really drink whatever..
Speak the truth. Im a fan of natty, but keystone is by far the best of what i can get here. Sometimes we will splurge and get bud light or maybe even bud diesel. When i get drunk at the bars I start ordering Guiness too.
I don't mind Natty, only b/c I started my college drinking days on it. You join a frat. (Sigma Phi Epsilon) or go to parties , that is all they have. So you get used to it, and after a few cups, your mouth is numb anyway so you don't notice the taste. I LOVE Yueng Ling and am a recent fan of Sam Adam's Summer Ale, mmmmm yum. Beer really is an acquired taste though, i'm not much of a fan of hard liquor. I don't even drink to get drunk, I drink a nice cold beer b/c I actually like the taste. My class project is going to show some interesting results I believe. There are the exceptions obviously, but I really don't think a lot of college students know what a good tasting beer is or they just want the cheap cr@p to get drunk.
We only drink bud light out of bottles....at Wal-mart a 20 pack is only 11.99 and a case of natty is 8.99....some things are worth the extra $3.00.
Keystone Light was my favorite in college. Thirty'stone for 15 bucks, can't beat it. Now I spluge and buy Coors Light. Shiner Bock if I'm feeling like a big shot.
lol-i never said i liked it, i only said i buy it, bud light is my favorite of what is offered here in fulton, unfortunately. but at the bars, you can get pretty much nething. to give you guys a sense of what fulton is like: i have never been stuck in traffic here, never. but, when the budweiser clydestales (sp) were here last week delivering beer, i was stuck for a good 30 minutes.
