Looks very interesting. A buddy of mine has done a couple laps in an S4 and said the track was pretty hard to memorize.

Has anyone been out? What do you think?

We've been waiting for this track for a few years now, seems they had some trouble with the locals. Next year for sure!

Yes, a bunch of us Lotus Elise owners have been there the last few weekends.
Great layout. Super scenery. Ups and downs and long. The armco reminds me of the Glen - if thats an issue. A bit narrow for passing. A long drive from TO. I'd go back in a flash.

Does the guy that owns the track have a pair of Porsche GT3's? A road car and a 'cup' car for HIS track?

I know that one man who helped fund it has a black MKII GT3 with brembo floating rotors in the front.

!! That looks like some serious fun. I've never been to a racetrack in my life, it sure seems like it would be a total blast for a car nut. I oughta go on a trackday with the BMW guys. Hmm... do I sense a track-project car in the works? :D

Dude, I suggest you go a few times first to feel things out. Then enter a couple of track days where you can be seated along side an instructor. Join the BMW Canada club as I am sure you know. The best first step.

Also, you can ask b-mak to teach you how to drive hahaha. I'd sooo pay to see that. I bet it would look something like this....

Oh, that's classic, Vasco. Thanks for the laugh. DJWANNABE4K can't afford me, anyway.

(btw, I'm in the Bahamas at the moment, suckas)

I can tell you about the beer, rum and vodka, but what happens in the Bahamas stays in the Bahamas (though I do have some photos of some of the biatches, yo)

LOL. No I wouldn't go flying around on my first try (except maybeeeeee into a wall...). But that is precisely what I was getting at: joining BMWCC and getting some seat time + lessons. It's not somethine to be taken too lightly or the consequences can be quite hefty.

Seriously, my friend, do yourself a favour and go to a real racing school where you are taught by professionals, not buy car club volunteers. Big difference, brother, and worth every single freaking penny.

Bridgestone and Jim Russell are great places to start.

Thanks for the heads-up B-Mak. I didn't know BMWCC instructors were volunteers  I'll look into the other options. Have fun down in the Bahamas bro!

Oh yeah, highly trained volunteers at that! Seriously, PM when you're ready to put some thought into it. I'd even welcome you into 416. Did you buy a bimmer?

Back from the Bahamas, already. Was on the beach at this time yesterday...

    Cool stuff B-Mak,

I have an older E36 328i. Pops has the E46 330Ci but I'm not touching that. I pushed for a M3 so bad but there was no hope :(:(:(... It would have been SMG anyways  I'll drop you a line when I'm serious about it. I don't think winter is an ideal time to look into these things :p, except finding out general informaiton ofcourse. I know a lot of the M guys from e46Toronto go tracking frequently in the summer, hopefully we'll set something up.

    Cheers!

    PS. What is 416? :(

Cool, great car. E36 (and E46, for that matter) cars have spaghetti subframes, the bimmer sites will tell you all about that. I keep hearing really good things about the new 335, though.

In winter, tracks are generally closed, no worries!

    416? Try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_code_416/647

LMAO I had no clue WTF he was on about in the 416 comment. I'm thinking, yes, those are the first 3 numbers on my phone so what? Sorry bro, joke failed :p.

And yeah, I've heard about the dreaded subframe failures although I have yet to see or hear about one in person. I hate the E92 cars, but hopefully the new M will change all that.

Holy Sh! t... Now that you guys mention it, My buddy had an 01 325 ci, the rear subframe did collapse on him!! I just remembered, it is true!

Although he bought it used, Maranello BMW had it for 2 weeks and had to fix it for free.
