OK 348 brothers...i need your opinion...

I own my 348 Tb for 3 years now...
I really enjoyed this car, i still in love with my TB BUT...
I think I want something different....

    I want an NSX...or a 911...

    ehhh NO, I'm kidding...

I want to trade the 348 TB for a nice 512 TR...

    What shoul I do....

I can't afford both F-cars, so if ui want the 512 TR, I'll have to sell my 348 TB...

Do you thinkk I'll be happier with a 512 and it's incredible Flat 12...
or should I keep the 348...

I really don't know what to do...

Maybe could you help me in this difficult decision...

    Hello Geoffrey

Nice to read you here again. A pity you couldn't make it to our last big NL meeting in september. I am sure we see you again in spring time.

    About your post.
The 512TR is a dream car, if you want to have it and can do it I wouldn't hesitate. It looks like our 348's big brother so I guess it's allowed.

In fact... and probably you've seen it also on the web..
There is a red 512TR for sale in Belgium near the dutch border.
The price seems very ok to me and we both know the owner personally.
Perhaps better not to mention his name here...

I wish you good luck !

    Go for the 512TR!

I would have before I got my 348. Probably still would now. I understand the reservations, but you gotta do it.

Ive never driven a TR but your not worried about the size of the car? Just thought I should point that out just incase your in fairy land about it. To me the TR looks to big, wide and I think I would hate driving it in places where its not designed to be; parking, city sharp corners etc...... I just like the size of a 348.

But Im sure the power of it would be like nothing else!

Try the Porsche. If I lived in Belge, I'd get a 911 C4S for its all-weather handling. Make sure you can live with its driving character because it is quite different from a Ferrari. Forget the 512TR because, coming from a 348, you may not like the size and lack of agility.

I was looking at a 512tr and it had crazy torque! I loved the idea of of 12 cylinders in a boxer configuration. So if the "old miami vice" looks are not a factor I say go for it.

Though as vvassallo mentioned, agility is limited. So I did what I believe is a good compromise, bought a F355. It is pretty fast and handles even better :D

I would have suggested this too, but I figured the poster was limited in spending only the 348 sale proceeds - value for money, go with the 911. If u got the cash, take the 355!

Just take the time to think it over! do your research, do your comparisons, do your pro-con lists and listen to everyones rational and opinions. After you've spent all that time hashing over everything.......then and only then sit back and do what your heart tells you to do! Making a hasty decision now can lead to buyers remorse later. Just take the time to be comfortable with your decision. Remember, it's the journey not the destination that counts. If the 512 rings your passion bell, then go for it! After awhile if it loses it's magic, sell it and add it to your experience list, then move on to your next dream, whatever that may be.
Life's going to take you on alot of different journeys and you will find the roads will change with the territory, so will the vehicle that takes you there.
It's your life! Do it for yourself and live your dream, not someone else's.
Enjoy the ride!!!!!whatever it is, that's what it's all about.
I can't speak for the rest of the brotherhood here and we hate to see you go, but IMHO once a brother always a brother.................Bush

Yes the 512 TR does it :)

Thank to all for your answers...

vvassallo, for 911 or nsx it was only a joke...
I don't want a sport car...I want a Ferrari....if i ll have to sell the 348, it ll be ONLY for another Ferrari...never for a porsche or anything else, i'm a "ferrarist" and always will be a "ferrarist"

    For the 355 i tried a f355 spider , manual...fantastic car...BUT not really different than the 348...

I think that the TR is the most beautiful car of the testarossa line up...

And the 12 cylinder is a dream....

I really love the 348 TB, no electronic, no PS, no traction control, no adjustable damper....and also her look...strikes...

So i think that i will love the TR for the same reason....maybe i'll lose some agility...but i ll win lot of torque and power...

ANyway, i'll testdrive the car tomorrow, i'll keep you informed...

But once again thank you all for your answer.

My prediction: you will absolutely love it. The 512 TR I drove made me think really really hard about my 355. I could just sit and listen to that motor all day long (and the 355 is no slouch in the sound department). The 512 is a really solid package, inside and out. Fantastic!

It's a shame we all don't have unlimited garge space. You could do what I did: buy an early Testarossa and keep the 348. You'd always have a spare! The 348 handles better than the early testarossa but the motor sounds great with a Tubi. Good luck in your search.

Well I will admit, I stil can hear that 512TR flat 12 ringing in my ear. It was barbaric :D. I would love to have both F355 & 512TR! That would be more realistic than that F40 I really need :p !!!

I think that the 348 'll have to go soon...

But it 'll break my heart to let it go...
