Okay, so I'm gonna jump into this PS3 craze and make some $$$!

Sorry this won't be much help....

Was it last year that X-360 was so hot and couldn't be found anywhere?? Whatever it was, my local Sam's had plenty of whatever everyone was looking for. Obviously some places run out of their supply, but there are other places that have many. I would search out those areas who have or will have a surplus and grab a bunch versus camping out or fighting over the limited supply in hot area.

i have been thinking about doing the same thing. after watching the 360 run up into thousands of $'s, it looks like a good idea.

The hard part will be getting your hands on a PS3. Not selling them. Only 400,000 are being sent to the states.

I'm not going to try and get one until sometime next year. The craze with be less and with any luck maybe even a little price drop. Plus if there are any bugs in the system, Sony will have fixed them by then.

 

It's probably too late for that idea unless you have a preorder receipt. Otherwise you have no chance of even getting one unless you have a hook up.

 

Personally, I don't think the PS3 will command the premium of the 360.

I don't recall the premium 360s got but the PS2s experienced a shortage and sold for over $800 on ebay till after Xmas. It is expensive, but people will pay the premium for Sony. Those who get one will definitely be able to get at least $1k on ebay.

 

True, but now you have a comparable system out with a bigger library in the Xbox (which you didn't have in the PS2), as well as the smaller competitor in the Wii. Plus, seems like the 360 has the swing.

People are estimating they will be going for 3k on ebay! If everything goes to plan, i'm hopefully getting at least 2

 

For Europe and parts of Asia, it was delayed untill March. Apparently there is a shortage in blue ray diodes. I believe the delay is for Australia and New Zealand as well.
There goes the worldwide launch of 10 million units, or whatever the outrageous claim it was they made.

I wish I had put down money on a pre-order for one, it's easy money dumping it onto eBay. There will be a shortage, so I think you'll definately make money if you can get one right away.

Bam, there are two models, just like the Xbox360. The "cheap" one is $499 and the fully loaded model is $599.

 

Do you know what the difference is? I wanted to see about getting one, but $600 for a f'n game console is a bit much IMO. Might as well buy a new tower for that price, and play on my computer...

$500 is steep, but doable if it's worth it

 

The more expensive PS3 comes with a blu ray player (i believe only the top model has this, i could be wrong tho), built in wifi, bigger hd (iirc) and some other little things

$3,000 WOW I'm going to try to get one too then. I'm sure even if you don't make that much you definitely won't lose any money so I think this is a very low-risk situation.

 

Both the 20gig and the 60gig come with Blue-ray. I believe only the 60gig has wifi but I could be wrong on that. I'll have to check.

 

Doubt it. I certainly wouldn't pay 3k for a PS3.

 

You probably wouldn't pay $3k for a piece of toast burnt with the shape of Mary either. But there are those out there that will
