i wasn't by any means saying it doesn't look nice (i hate them on principle due to a comercial in which Mitsubishi had my car, a montego blue 3rd gen RX-7, bowing to it at an intersection) i was just pointing out the similarity.

being the aficionado that you are, do you think it has "the look and feel" of a ferrari?

you asked for feedback, so here are my thoughts.

my favorite "dino" is still one you did quite early on (post 498), on which I lenghtened the nose(595) and the stretched the W/B a bit (721); simple, clean, elegant but fun. I would ask that you re-read your post (596).

I also like your P4 version (1119) very much.

    cheers

I think your guys feedback is good, because after having sketched a lot and in different directions, i can still backtrack and see what i've done.

I'm going back to my earlier sketches, because i think those had more of the Dino ethos than the later models.

Will rework those as my final design....

Thanks for the feedback, and the constructive critisism, it made me see a few things I had forgotten.

    Ciao

looking through the pile of past rough sketches, I found this...

I think it's closer to the Dino, than I ever thought at the beginning...:)

My opinion is that that has overhangs which are too short and overly exaggerated fender curves which makes it look like a sand buggy.

Not enough flow or drama to be a Dino. It looks like a Lotus Elise evolution.

Trust your instincts, you kept sketching past this for a reason.

Of course I have been wrong before.

    Cheers

    Eric

Fuoriserie, your idea is clear now.
You should not worry too much about proportions in these sketches.
Just start drawing your flowing lines over the chassis and see what happens with the proportions.
Form follows function and let the chassis do the talking.
The artistic details will come later.

Fuoriserie, I think this is my favorite sketch of yours. It is flowing and sleek enough to be a Dino, without the squatness and really low roofline of your other drawings.

I've asked this before... But as no one talked about it again, I decided to make it myself.

I've taken the dimensions from the images posted here some time ago.
It's accurate, so you can trust the pics...

Hope you can use them as a basis for the sketching process...

    Hello.

Probably a little late, but today I've spent a couple of hours making a few sketches.
Here are they, some sketches for the front design.

    Hope you like them.

I welcome any comments and opinions.

If you want to, you could point out the one you like the most, or the parts from a given sketch you prefer, and a final front design could be made.

    Regards from Portugal,
    Ernesto Freitas

I like them all. The wheels are a little "pimped", but the body designs are great.

Just for those who have a thing for big wheels sketching, look at Gordon Wagener's renderings for the new Mercedes Slk......apart from the first 1/1 scale sketch, the rest is out of proportions big time!

If you went for real cardesign parameters those are 35-40 inch wheels..., but the sketches still look great, if unrealistic in a real car.

    Ernesto,

I love your sketches man! But a lot of them look to be variations of a 360/430. There are a couple that have a more Dino flavor to them. The sketch on the bottom left of image/page 2. And the top center of image/page 5. They say Dino to me because they are not only curvaceous but also have the wraparound windshield. All others have the flatter windshields common to the 360/430. They also do not have the extreme rake that the 360/430 has. The Dino was less aggressively raked, more feminine.

Again, I love all your ideas. Those 2 seemed more appropriate for a Dino.

    Manny

I gave it a real quick go. Forgive the front end though, I really don't know what was going on. This is just a first draft anyways and a second revision is already underway, going to fix the front so its not a complete mess and add a few more Dino qualities while stretching the whole thing out so it's not so 360-ish.

Based on Ernesto Freitas' 3D renderings of the cars frame.

Nice design but I feel it is a little too busy to be associated with the Dino name, if you toned it down a bit I think it would look superb!
