Damaged FXX

It's Rosso Corsa, they put orange stickers on it for the day. It's s/n 146362 owned by Michael Bareither.

 

any info how it was damaged?

 

I figured it was the picture, but that's pretty neat. Any pictures of the orange before it wrecked?

If that really is orange stickers then someone did a very good job with them. Looked like paint to me!

Wow, no kidding.

 

The "sticker job" is actually technically called a "wrap", and they had done an amazing job with it on Michael's FXX. Vinyl wraps of that nature are very common in motorsport - many racing cars just use a vinyl wrap straight onto the carbon body panels. The Penske Racing Porsche RS Spyder LMP2 cars are another great example of a wrap. Before the next race you just change the vinyl wrap and the car looks brand new again - it saves time and weight compared to painting and repainting, although I think that Michael's car is going to need more than just a new wrap!

The incident with the orange/Rosso FXX occurred just after the 2nd chicane and just before the first Lesmo, and it was a big impact so I am pleased that Michael walked away from it completely uninjured.

Yep. When you look at your photos with the door open, you can see the Rosso Corsa paint. Great wrap job!

 

I would love to see a normal Enzo have the FXX bodykit besides that ugly wing. that'd look great on the road

What's with the mirrors on that FXX? Did not think that they did side views on the FXX and opted to use a RV camera.

 

I agree that an FXX bodykit would look nice on an Enzo. However... "ugly" wing?! To me, the wing really helps the car, not only functionally, but aesthetically as well. In my opinion, the rear wing of the FXX gives the car a much more balanced look than the Enzo. It adds elements of flare and sport which a supercar such as an Enzo/FXX deserves. Although stylish, the rear end of an Enzo compared to an FXX reminds me of one of those poor varieties of dogs who are missing their tails. (As do Porsches.)

 

FXX twin tail fins are nice, maybe a full length tail spoiler would be better?

 

Good call, was doubtful before as the vinyl was so good it looked like paint, but its cleary rossa corsa.

 

That orange colour looks really awesome on the FXX!!
