I think my battery is on it's last legs and needs to be replaced. I have a '91 348ts with the rear location for the battery. What is the best way of removing it.....bearing in mind I'm not the most mechanically minded of people!!! Many thanks for any suggestions.

IIRC I removed mine through the wheel well.

It is 90% possible to remove it through the engine compartment, assuming it's small enough - the reason that statement doesn't sound stupid is because 15 years after the fact, every '91 348 has had at least one replacement battery and some may be too wide to fit. Give it a shot. Alternatively, and the recommended way to do it, is to jack the car up, remove the wheel and the wheel liner, and take the battery out that way - MUCH easier, presuming one knows how to change tires.

You can definitley remove it from the engine bay. My battery can come out of there, its just heavy to man handle out of there. Or I am a *******. :p Thats why its easier to come out through the wheel well. But it can be done through the engine bay also. :)
