Gave it another go, this designs a bit more retro, cleaned up the front end. The physical size of the drawing is twice as large so I didn't take as much time to do interior details. Again, many thanks to Ernesto Freitas for providing a 3D frame for me to base this on. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Actually very nice. Personally, I do not think the F430/Enzo tailights will work. I think you should take the same route as the 599 and use the round lights, either single or double on each side.
I agree with Tifosiron. You have a great start, just needs some fine tuning. Do you plan to sketch the rear 3/4 view soon?
Here are a couple more sketches... more curved... Hope you like them. Regards from Portugal, Ernesto Freitas Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very good! You're almost there! Headlights are almost perfect. I would not use the double sharknose holes, but just one single intake in the middle. Could you make the bodyshape a bit more laid back? Shaped by the wind instead of penetrating it.
Ernesto, you hear the man! Give him what he wants! I totally agree with you, Ron. With some minor changes I think this is the one to build!
I'll develop this design and change it a bit with some ideas of my own. I will place it over the 3D-chassis in photoshop. This one is going to be a true beauty!
A lot of the cars original character comes through in the large sleek headlights, giving it that vintage feeling. The longer tail working into the fast-back style rear headquarters is also pretty distinct. I'm personally a large fan of the bumper designs wrapping around the car, but I guess they're not particularly critical in it's design. Time for a third try!
This is absolutely the best shot so far, great work Ernesto!!! I agree with Michiel on the single intake in the front instead of the "shark nose ones", and perhaps a Dino should have four tail lights?!?! I'm not too crazy about the Enzo/430 style influence at the rear, but I really like the overall design of this car!
Beautiful. The only thing I'm not keen on is the rear diffuser. Could that be ditched, or smoothed somewhat more to match the front end splitter area. Wonderful design tho, that's a car I'd buy. Looks like a cross between a 430/Enzo and Dino. Very nice balance.
very nice design. Really does speak Dino. From the sketch I have a couple concerns. The A pillar curve in the front 3/4 and rear 3/4 does not match. It also makes for an impossible side glass curvature. (from the front 3/4 view, how could the side glass drop?)There appears to be no exterior pillars, is the glass to be all flush-fit? The C pillar quarter glass appears to be concave, if so, how does it mate to the side glass. The detail for the greenhouse needs to be better defined for shape. Overall a great design, nice in that it is not overly detailed, and does not cater overly to the modern trends and fashions. Cheers Eric
http://www.leftlanenews.com/2006/11/01/spied-proof-ferrari-is-working-on-a-new-dino/ Ferrari is obviously reading this thread too But for the love of god keep posting great sketches so the Dino won't end up like the awful render in the link. It's the perfect example of how you make the complete opposite of what people in this forum is doing. Zero sex-appeal. Great sketches Ernesto, even though I liked the front and rear you did some time ago better. Keep it up guys, it's great entertainment!
