We are trying to find the name of the color, that was on a bright blue 430 Coupe at the national meet and also at Summit Point that same week. Anyone know? I believe the car was owned by a member in Florida.
Bright blue? Given the number of different blues and different possible interpretations of the word bright, a pic would be mighty helpful in trying to identify the colour... Guess it wasn't the smurf blue one - IIRC that ones in NorCal
I believe he's talking about the "Smurf blue" Apple iPod F430 that was there, S/N 146026 (see below)... I have no idea what the color is called, but pictures just don't do it justice... It is striking in person... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know the owner of this car and I agree with Carb, Pix do not do it justice! BTW, "Smurfs" are French, I'm sure the Italians use a different word to describe the color so I will see if I can get the Italian translation for you! or maybe the owner will chime in... never know who is lurking out there.
That's the one! It is not a Ferrari color, I think it is Porsche color or paint to sample. I need to track it down. Thanks Rafi
Looks a lot like BMW's Laguna Seca blue from the E46 M3's, or the electric blue seen on a Diablo or two (Monterey edition?).
Audi had a blue called Nogaro blue, limited to the S4. It was a pearl color, very similar to that, and very eye catching. Pictures don't do it justice, it was an unusual blue. It looked something like this (because of the pearl, the pictures never look quite like the real color): Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks to all you guys, you have helped a great deal locating this color. We are ordering a 599 in this color. Rafi
can anyone elaborate on the relationship between apple computer and this particular f430? license plate frame says apple computer on it. i was just wondering if it was an obscure one-off co-branded f430 (though one would think it would be flat white, if that was the case), or if the owner is just an apple executive of some sort.
Wow - that's a long way - or do people in the US have their cars trailered to and from events more than we in the UK (who onl have short distances to cover) Mazda also did a blue called Laguna Blue which was popular on the original Miata/MX5 - not sure if it is the same as the BMW one, but from pics I've seen, I'd say the BMW one has more of a green tint than either this F430 or the Mazda one Can't wait to see that I've heard of/seen pics of cars in Azzuro Dino too - are all these colours the same - is there some way of finding out, such as PPG (?) codes, etc or do paint codes vary from manufacturer to manufacturer?
This blue color looks like a 1971 Ferrari Daytona color (one Daytona was crashed but there were at least two examples FACTORY new). There was also a Dino 246 at a show in Australia wearing the 'blue' shade. It was pictured here some time ago. The 246 owner would not respond to questions about it...not sure if his was the original color. ch
That is definitely not Azzuro California. I do know that color. The photos below are true Azzuro. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I know the owner of that 430. He special ordered that color, do not know the name. He is not an executive, just a stock option cash in. Real nice guy I might ad as well. I will call him and ask the name of the color.
I just happened to be browsing at FoSF one day when the owner of this car was picking it up. Definitely a brave soul. A total "in your face" blue! By the way, could someone please tell this ignorant soul what IIRC means?
