I hope this isnt a repost, but I just came across this:

Jesus, some people have too much money to spend i guess. I wonder how this will affect the resale value of the car.

I call Bullship. Typical Hennessey bravado.

No Veyron owner is going to let someone with as sketchy a past as Hennessey anywhere NEAR their million dollar car.

The bigger the lie the more likely people are to believe it.

Thats what i was thinking, but the news is spreading over the internet pretty quick as per my last google search.

I guess free publicity wont hurt the company, but the reputation that precedes it, will.

Id belive it Ive read many upon many posts on Viperalley of his and he still gets alot of buisness from members there. He has also just opened a hugh rac track complex. He has a bad history but he seems like a hard working man.

As above, I’m curious as to just how much extra performance could actually be extracted from a Veyron without compromising the reliability.

the veyron is pretty quiet; besides, not like fabbing an exhaust is the biggest project in the world...although perhaps, headers for a 16 cylinder engine is up there!

    Why
I am a professional automotive journalist and write for magazines that would be covering this... I would not drive anything without the permission of the owner, nor would i do anything to put my reputation at risk...

In other words I do this Shet for a living.... Not for a Joyride

Me thinks that the resale of a used Bug (regardless of a modded exhaust) will bring similiar numerical results just like their last foray into the exotic car market.......remember the EB110.......?

I think that a Bug being modified to carry a bottle of Hennessey is more likely to occur.......than what is being talked about.

This is a fact. Too many times in the past has this happened. I bought a 98 GTS about half a year ago with the Hennessey 850R NA package. The car had been brought to John yrs before and he installed the 650R package for 35K. Then later it was brought back to him and for another 35K it left per Hennessey's word w/815hp to the wheels. The car was by far the fastest that I have ever driven on the street. I believe in his claims but never dyno'd it. I had made an impulse buy. I just happened to walk up on the car for sale and bought it within an hour.
Point to this story is I had read over the yrs and heard about his reputation, but bought anyway. Then I tried to get him on the phone to verify what had been done to the car in his shop and he stood behind the secretary and simply told her to tell me that I would have to bring it to him. We'll I didn't live in TX.! He was very rude, so I went onto the Viper forum and searched his name and verified all the things that I had heard in the past and sold the car 3 days later.
IMO, he wanted the car left in his shop because he knew I was not buying it from the actual owner but in fact a broker who knew nothing of the car, so if he had possession of the car he could have raided it for all the go fast goodies not in eyesight and I would either not have known or wouldn't be able to prove it. So in no way was I gonna leave my car with him. Same goes if the car would have needed repair, in no way was I prepared to leave it with him based on what I had read. As a matter of fact I remember a major Magazine(Cannot remember which one) did a very negative article about him stated how he sold numerous parts off customers cars while they were in his possession. IMO he's a great supercar modifier but, hhhmm, how do I word this nicely, not very ethical at all. Heres a clip of a passenger in a 700 crank hp. single turbo Supra videoing me in the GTS doing a aprox. 80 mph roll on up to 180 mph(me anyway). We both floor at the same time, watch me instantly smoke him! The video does this no justice but its all I got.

where and how did this veyron owner come to the conclusion to go to hennessy?

why wouldnt he go to someone like Tubi? obviously, but the point is why not go to someone that has a great record with exhaust (flow, sound, quality, etc.) ??
i mean he has to have done some research right?
maybe he is local? viper owner that has had no problems?
it just seems like something isnt right
hennessey doesnt do VW's ---- does he?
why not take your million-plus dollar vehicle and get a nice titanium exhaust done-up nicey-nice?
is this owner himself? i dont know if he's paid like that or not.
i own the Veyron, i want only the best-of-the-best because it seems like the car is made like that. or it seems like that or its implied and i took the bait
but then again, i would have to question myself about purchasing a veyron, i think i would rather lease it

I would go to John perhaps but maybe Heffner since he has more work with turbo exotics (FGT and G-car). I imagine its a friends car as he said on viperalley his friend had one and was getting a second one for his wife. So the guy must of had more work done by John before.

This is the only picture that I can find with the back exposed. Picture taken by graeme73s. I really can't see much getting improving with that little space.

with the rear shell of the car removed- the Veyron looks like something developed by NASA or Doc in Back to the Future. Anyone have any higher res pictures of this marvel of engineering. Say what you want about the Bug, the automotive world is better place with it than without.

what if this guy creates a light weight exhaust with very little insulation like a straight threw design, no sound proofing or even insulation, the exhaust might start to glow under hard acceleration....and catch something on fire in the confined space of that car
