Having seen, touched, sat in and heard this car at Goober's workshop, the description of stunning would be an understatement. The sound was a truly something special!
Just got a text from Waz. The boys made it back safely from Melbourne today, but with an empty trailer. The car was too wide to fit a standard trailer. Bummer.
What rotten luck! And after going all that way. OTOH, they could have just driven it back on trade plates, followed by the ML and trailer. "Sorry officer, it wouldn't fit on the trailer", it would have been a perfectly legit excuse too
LOL, personally I would have checked that before I drove all the way there. Would have been shattering to get there and not be able to bring it back. So are they planning to go back another time and get it? And will they have enough time to get it and do what is required before the rally? Well it would appear that Waz isn't the only person who doesn't measure before they buy.
yes some may have checked, however a car trailer that carries OHOS yankee stuff isnt big enuf, 7.00 tonight it trundles down the south eastern freeway to ground zero. i got a tilt tray to go over and get it
Thats for the pics Phil. So Goober, it is still on for Classic Adelaide? There won't be much you need to do to it before the Rally? Greg
Heres another fabulous shot at Adelaide through one of the chicanes. On the limit !! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey Guys, I don't normally post on this site, however the purpose of my visit was to gauge whether buying a 360 Challenge was a good idea. After going in a track day at Sandown last week, I was deeply moved by the Spine tingling Shreek whilst on the track and although Simonsen is one of my good mates and I have spent alot of time around these cars, I didn't realise that that they were so affordable to purchase. And of course Phil no doubt talked down the costs of running. The only problem with this now is??? It looks like I just missed the boat as Goober has just bought the car I was considering. One question that I have for you Goober is how much did you end up Paying?? If that's not too rude to ask... You can send me a private message if you want. Image Unavailable, Please Login
yep its still on for the classic, i saw it come off the tilt tray tonight and what a sight to behold, then once off kicked in the guts and then i realised why i bought it. it will need a passenger seat and a pair of fire extinguishers and a belly full of dutch courage there is an old saying in the car industry "the car you looked at today and will think about until tomorrow is the same car that someome saw yesterday and will buy today" and the cost is irrelevant, i'm sure we all know the price being asked by the dealer. Also consider that i did the deal on viewing the same photos that were on the web site all the way from Adelaide, sight unseen, no PPI, just a hunch that it is the right truck and it is what i want. The cost of maintenance is also irrelevant, one doesnt buy a ferrari in the knowledge that they are concerned about what its goona cost to keep on the road, if that was of concern to me i wouldnt have any ferraris and end up with M3's.Sure i could have bought a GT3 and it would have been road registered but it aint a Ferrari,

Very very cool mate!! The car stills look brand new! Especially inside, sort of! Love the alcantra dash. Has this car got the airjacks on board?
yep, went across the road to BOC and got the nitrogen air bottle, regulator and i had some high pressure air con regas hose and good ol ryco fitting, tomorrow morning it gets jacked and then the work starts, new rubber (falkens) shocks and springs get changed to raise the ride height, passenger seat and six point harness ciggy lighter for the sat nav (no fuel gauge or odometer) 2 fire extinguishers.
AWESOME!! Great fun mate! If you have time, can you post more pics of the car, as the work progress'? Cheers.
Awesome! I was going to find you by looking out for the the Renault Turbo but now here's something that will make its presence known directly on the sub-ether! Looking forward to progress news this week and catching up the next..
Nice score uncle Goober! Lovely beast! So many cars...so little garage space....you're gonna have to be more persuasive with the neighbour.
