1st Annual Atlanta F- Chat Picnic & Ride

Ok, a group of us have been talking about doing this, and so now its time to put it out there.

November 18th, 12:00 Pm starting at Atlanta Memorial Park - Buckhead, we have a bring your own picnic - tail gate. no glass or booze allowed per park rules, but pretty much all else goes... this is a warm up to the Giovanni's gathering later in the day.... so we all eat, check out the cars, and around 2:30 we mount up and take a long drive to Giovanni's - getting there about 4ish... depending on the time. along the way we can stop and swap passengers ( & drivers if so inclined) this is an opportunity to share your car the way it was meant to be ... by driving it! its open to all F- Chatters not just owners, the more the better. - all car marques invited!

Route is to be determined, so we are up for suggestions. we will stay off interstate's and stick to back roads where possible, and try to make it a fun day for all.

If we get a half decent turn out next year we can do prizes etc.. and reserve the park ... so Hope to see you there on Saturday November 18!

I dont have a ferrari (i'm only 20) but I would love to come and hang out. My rx7 at least looks fast, and it's red...

Sounds like fun. I should be able to make that.

 

There is a short little curvy road near my house that is easy to get to, you just get off at McFarland on 400. It's very easy to get to Giovanni's from there, also there is a large enough parking lot right before you turn on to that road for everyone to park, and trade drivers/passengers. Everyone could follow me to Giovanni's from there, it's only about 7 miles from that location.

 

So pretty much I'm driving downtown, going to the picnic and driving back to Giovanni's which is maybe a mile from my house, haha sounds like fun.

 

Like they say, its not the destination its the way you get there that counts!

We'll be looking at routes, that are fun, and if possible less traffic... and have spots for folks to share rides.

 

I can't wait. I love driving down the backroads and I would really love to go for a ride!

 

Damn, I'll be in Jamaica for all the fun on the 18th. So my baby will have to sit in the garage all alone.

Just need to get a turn out... it would be nice to get more social activity going on with the local folks, and spend some time driving instead of watching!

Holy cow Charles!! That is too cool! I heard Trinidad has superb diving there.

 

We will see how this one goes, and then have one in the spring.... I just want to try to get the folks inside the perimeter to have an event! I feel like we are left out!

SO Please plan on attending... We're just grabbing some stuff from Eatzie's bringing a water proof tarp & blanket... radio and take a couple of hours to enjoy the outside... I personally love this time of the year!

Just hope it does not rain! I also love to drive, and the more cars you can drive with the more fun! Its alwasy fun to run with cool cars... its good to see them out in the wild, being used instead of at a showjust sitting there.

Tom, My wife & I will be there as I said earlier but we won't make it up to Giovanni's. My wife surprised me with James Taylor tickets for that evening at the Fox.
