My question is, where do these countries get the Gov't alloted funds to comission these exotic companies to produced Police business specific vehicles like this?

in the US, the cops can just use anything the confiscate... i'm pretty sure, as long as they can afford the ins., maintenance, etc. also, i've read that sometimes these companies donate their car to the local authorities "out of the goodness of their hearts"

I believe these are just publicity stunts in the UK - the number plate YEV1L has been on many official Lamborghini press demonstrators in the past, so I'd guess this is also a publicity stunt for the MPH'06 show (IIRC YEV1L was last on an orange Murci)

Another issue is where to put the jail bird? I'll bet the back seat is smaller than the typical police car seats!!! I guess if you are caught by one of these guys, they just shoot you and call the morgue.

They could call another car for "pickup". The California Highway Patrol uses Chevrolet Camaro's in some instances. The Camaro is not setup for carrying additional people, so they would then radio a Crown Victoria to assist.

Yep, all those, plus a yellow Lambo Gallardo, are merely promotional cars (lent by the manufacturer) the police have used over the years. It’s been noted on other forums that the cops seem to be driving around in a Murci on illegal plates (incorrect spacing or something). But who am I bring into question the integrity of our boys in blue. ;)

It seems that in most countries they could fund a Murci simply on ticket revenue!

Maybe I should have applied for a police job when I lived in the UK. Inspectors and detectives earn pretty good money, special branch even better; and if they get this sort of "company cars"... it beats any corporate career!!!
