does anyone know who the owners are, of the last two amazing garages (the ferrari room, and hangar)?? US/Europe??
It's all about location, location, location, .... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking at some of the most exotic garages and Ferrari car collections posted in this thread (the beautiful room with 8 or so ferraris and engines on stands, airplane hangar, the nice houses with F-cars parked out front, etc.), I notice a common thread with each of these - almost all of the Ferraris are red. Can someone educate me and other entry-levels on the emphasis of red as a car color in the Ferrari world? I am comming from a Porsche world and am entering into Ferrari ownership shortly by getting a 360 spyder. My 993 cab is silver and very easy to keep clean. I like titanium on the 360 spider, however I see several posts here that refer to "resale red" and there are by far many more red 360s for sale than other colors. Do true enthusiats scoff at non-red ferraris? I still plan to get titanium as that is what I like, but what is the deal with Red as the preferred color?
Not at all.. No enthusiasts looks down on non-red Ferrari's. If they do, they are not enthusiasts. It comes down to what you want. Ferrari's started as red, and has developed into being the most recognised brand, because of it's color. Most of the cars are red from the factory, and therefore there's a lot more of them. Go get the titanium 360, it's a very cool color
Here are the latest photos of his collection. He still has the 288 GTO. I think he bought a silver SLR since these were taken. He is in the U.S. and that collection is about 5 minutes from my house. He is a private guy so I better not post his name. Those are only his Ferraris, he has a lot of other nice cars at his house too.
Incredible....does he fit them all in that garage at that house? or did he just drive them over to take the photos?
Here are some older pics...I will post some newer pics in a couple of weeks when an additional occupant arrives.....The Ruf is no longer (sold), but will be replaced by a 997 GT3 (White/Black, Jan Build, Feb Delivery). I'll leave the car coming in 2 weeks as a mystery for now.... Wow - that's quite a collection, I don't even know where to begin to guess what the new arrival will be, though I'm hoping either an Enzo, 288GTO or 959 (or Zonda if you can get them in the USA yet) to keep the F40 and CGT company!
IIRC traditionally it was only the racing cars that were red, whilst even the early road cars came in many colours, however many buyers went for red as an homage to the race cars. Personally I don't think I'd buy a red F-car, well maybe when I finally manage to get a 288GTO, but 'till then, I'd go with other colours. PS sorry for the off-topic!
Wow....the only thing I can think to say is, wow. That would have every day starting with a smile to come out to the garage and see all of those cars waiting for me. I must say, that eventhough it is the oldest one in there, the F40 would be my choice to drive if I could only drive one for the day. It is a true, pure, sports car icon. I bet your neighbors love you.
God I love this thread! RufMD, incredible garage and collection! The Ruf is nice, I thought it would have been a keeper.
As I have said before amazing collection!! Hopefully you will be able to come to some of the cruises they have had in Kentucky/Indiana and I will be able to see some or all of them.
Yeah, I really regret selling it...I think I'll feel better once the GT3 gets here, but God, that was an awesome car. Where are you from in Montreal ? I'm a huge Habs fans and my wife is from Pointe Claire....
I remember you!! Your garage is bigger than my house!! Thanks for the pics!! They are awesome!! You have a great collection of cars and you are very lucky being able to experience all these exotics in your lifetime. Cant wait to see your new toy.
