    Thanks Bruno for these photos.

I would call it 250 GT #2053GT, instead of 250 GTO.

    What do you think ?

Bruno, You make my day with those pictures, thanks.

So this 250GT SWB #2053GT starts as a normal 250GT

SWB, becomes a roller chassis for the 250GTO prototype,

then becomes again a 250GT SWB competion car, is sold

after the carreer in Italy to 'ecurie Francorchamps', after a

crasch becomes a Drogo bodied car and is for the end of

    the racing career again crashed.....

Aaaaand the rests are still in Jacques Swaters his archive : This would be a perfect restauration project isn't it.....

Only one question : in what body GTO Proto - 250SWB or 250 DROGO ......

    greetings, Vincent.

Marvelous photo of the Testa Rossa 0730 at Le Mans in 1959! It was entered by Ed Martin and driven by him and Jim Kimberly I believe. Also raced in 1958 Le Mans but the colors were reversed.

There are so many unique features on this TR. The hinged door at the front of the bonnet; the center rear view mirror looks like it came out of an American sedan; the bullet mirror on the driver's side inside the windscreen, and the scoop just in front of it.

Keep em coming David, don't spend all your time over at that other place. <g>

I really enjoy the period pictures of the car but I am also curious about the many people in each photo. It is my hope that one day someone comes back to say "Hey that is me back in 19??". This can be difficult since many of the subject have to be fairly old by now.
I am trying to come up with something fresh for today's photo. Any suggestions?

    David,

I am stuck in the 1950's and 1960's so your posts of the yellow NART SWB's at Le Mans really caught my attention. Anything NART is much appreciated.

A very small point, but E. D. Martin as he was known is Edwin Dennis Martin. Ed could be short for Edwin, although I have always heard him referred to as E. D.

makes you wonder what the Classiche folks would decide to do in order to make it "authentic" if it rolled thru the door in Modena tomorrow. what snapshot in time represents the authentic 2053?

You sir are absolutely correct, my mistake and I knew better too. I should have put my mind in gear before releasing the fingers on the keyboard.

    Thank you for the clarification.

Dan Gurney driving the mid engined Dino but more interesting is the 330 LMB sitting behind it. PPP told me that this is the car Tony Wang currently owns and that gold was the original color. How many photos of the bronze LMB have you seen?

Bronze is not original color. It was red when sent to LM. Then a hood scoop was added and the car resprayed in metallic bronze. I've never seen a photo of it in this color! Best wishes, Kare

    Amazing color !

Is it #4453 330 LMB or #4713GT GTO ? (these two cars ran at Le Mans '63 with Nart entry).

Can someone identify the chassis number of the mid-engine Dino shown with Gurney behind the wheel? I have looked through the results from both of the races at Bridgehampton in September 1963, where Gurney drove the #47, and there is no Dino, nor a car #46 entered in either event. Saturday 9/15/63 was a 500-km WSC race that Gurney won in a Cobra and he drove car #47, chassis 4453 to 3rd place in another 500-km race on Sunday 9/16/63. Does anyone know why this Dino was there but not run? Thanks.

The car in question is 268SP #0798. It would have started the sunday race driven by John Fulp, but it bent a valve in practice on saturday and did not start.
