Well, after owing the car for a week I have gotten used to driving this thing. I have changed the wheel and dropped a Tubi in there. On the first and second day, I was planning on getting rid ove the car due to the fact that the accel pedal is way to sticky. On or Off. Not sure if that is a Ferrari thing, 355 thing or just a bad thing for my car that needs to be looked at. Then I dropped the Tubi in. Engine started running a little worse. Majot loss of low end and not the "F1" Type of sound I was looking for. This car is out the door and the 360CS was coming back.

    Well.......

I have been reading this HP and talking with alot of you and first of all, you guys ALL rock for the kindness shown on this board. FChatters seem to be a tight knit bunch and welcome outsiders, as long as they realize they are in "FERRARI" chat not "My Jap/Ger/Kor/UFO car is beeter then yours" chat. I like that and Pap, you rock for the help as well as the rest of you!!

Today was a nice sunny day in Japan and I thought I would wash my car and go for a drive. I was reading the a post that says you should disconnect the battery and let it sit for 15 min then start it and let it go through the warm up cycle. This should rework the ECU with the muffler. So I did and washed my car. After 2 hours and 1 Mojito later, I reconnected the battery and started her up. I was expecting the rough idle and what not and that is exactly what I got....for about 2 min. Then low and behold, the Yellow Pony evened out and started to sound just right. Smooth with a touch of roughness when the fans kick in. My god! So I took the wife for a Sunday afternoon stroll. Power was back!!!!! In a big way!!! For some reason the car resparked me and I am happy with this as a first Ferrari. I will hold on to this one for a year or so. I am still not happy with the throttle as it feels extreemly sticky. I need to find some type of solution for this. Pap gave me the WD40 quick fix but I think I will look for something more long lasting. ;-p

As for the sound, I am sorry, I am not happy with the sound. I am hopping I can find a way to get a very high pich sound. Maybe hyperflows andthe Tubi sport exhaust manifolds will help.

Overall I have to say I am happy with my 355. 8 out of 10. And I am happy you guys are supportive via this board and the back channels. So as I grow in to a seasoned Ferrari owner, please deal with the ignorent questions that I may ask. PLEASE!!!!

95's had the problem with the sticky throttle.. not sure if anyone ever came up with a fix for it though. As for the sound not being high pitched enough, test pipes/hyperflows should fix that. I have tubi headers, tubi exhaust, test pipes, and kreis-seig upper pipe and 8500 rpm in a tunnel sounds pretty much like the tunnel at Monaco. The only street Ferrari I've heard with a higher pitched sound was an F50 w/Tubi.

Why just the 95 model? Did they re-route the cable in the 96-onwards 355's to stop them sticking? Can you fit the 1996/1998-onwards cable? I think thats what xavior is asking? :)

The problem is not the throttle cable. It is the vacuum pressure against the throttle plates. The 1996 and later cars have a valve to relieve this pressure. The problem can be fixed on the 1995s by adjusting the throttle plates. At idle they need to be set very slightly open. A good Ferrari mechanic that is familiar with F355s should be able to do this. I have had two 1995 F355s and have never had the problem once the adjustment was made.

It is my understanding that the capristo exhaust has that higher pitch F1 sound :).
