Well, I wouldn't pick a Gallardo for the journey if there was something more comfortable - like a Boeing. I'm not sure of my schedule yet, but I'll probably fly in Wednesday night and bring it back on Thursday. I could wait a week for a truck, but I'm missing the car too much. Plus, I'd like to take around Mallala at least once in its life and this Friday is the day.

The 360C does have a fuel gauge.. on the "practice" page of the dash... but it's notoriously unreliable as the swing arm gets stuck on the foam in the tank. I don't know which springs you got.. but they're probably rated in Newtons, so need to convert to lbs" by factor of 5.71 roughly.. ride height... oh dear... height isn't enough.. you need bump and DROOP travel... or you'll be hanging wheels in the air... which makes stopping/steering...err... impossible... and those proflex cannisters need to bve pressured EVERY WEEK to be safe... some better than others... height and rake are critical... a 3mm change anywhere can be the difference between under steer/over steer... get out and practice over and over and over and over...
thanks, both grant and i have bought sat nav units so we have an odometer, i reckon as a rule of thumb that 100 litres should get 300km or therabouts, we are making an adapter for the fuel situation so its easier to fill er up. does the car take 98 or prefer that really expensive Elf stuff?

No need for a fuel adaptor... just press it in with both thumbs and wedge a plastic and/or flat thing (cranked ring spanner is ok) in the filler and pour it in. Either side ok to fill it from. Don't compromise your safety by messing with the dry break kit, and don't damage the seal surface by wedging something rough in there. it'll run fine on 98, but produce very noticable power increase with Elf LMS 102... we tested it once at oran park, and produced remarkable data. You need to do a full pump out using the extra line fitted... you need a high flow pump and rig, or you can bridge the fuel pump relays and pump the tanks using the main pumps via the pressure tester ports on the rails.. but it'll take forever, and you risk spillage, draining the battery and /or running your pumps dry. Have no data for road use fuel consumption. But on track you'll get something like 0.5 litres per km. They're tuned rich. 0.80 lambda at WOT.
so in plain english, 98 is ok but for turbo boost stuff go for the elf gear, so if i fill up and then let run down then do a proper fill up on the good gear that should suffice,but i''m not into the land speed record, in thoroughbred touring we can only do 130kph, but we can get there quickly, and another thought the floating discs............do they need to be super warm to work or are they ok just like normal brakes..........and does it have abs?
hahahaha.....goobs you are SO funny! you've bought one of the best 360ch around, and you have NO idea about what you've bought! ABS yes. Brakes...same as mine, more or less, how they work depends on the pads. BTW....WHY , phil, are they tuned to .8?
ABS yes, and ASR is your traction control... by default it is ON... if you turn it off prepare yourself for a rearwards impact! And if you turn it off... then stall engine... it'll be on again when you re-start.. so remember that! Brakes are not same as 355C. 360C has smaller (thinner) front pads than 355 which warm up much more quickly, but wear out a bit quicker obviously. rear brakes are much smaller than 355C. FYI You can tune brake bias via pad choice. Sample the brake temps to find out what you need. Maybe block up the duct with tape... they'll probably over cool on the road.
well i did do a shizen load of homework on the thing...........i rang, left message, made offer, sent money, "tried to collect car", wouldnt fit, now in adelaide, yep went all the way with it, bassically if u ask waz356 i had buyers remorse when i first saw it................it looked too good to be true and i thought i was looking at the wrong car, then mark started on the peter stuvys and short blacks at 7.00am trying to calm me down whilst waz was administering oxygen to me via a bottle.
thnx phil we worked the brake side out with the duct coverings and i was told under no circumstances release the ARS as it will be an invitation to go sideways, bit like may the force be with you stuff, and if one takes off too quickly they end looking back at themselves
PHR 005 is the new SA reg for the car, the govt have issued Grant and i a rego that pertains to the event from tomorrow til after the CA has finished, so it will be cruising o'connell st and rundle street tomorrow night.......not quite it needs war paint. but the govt supply us with rego for 31.00 per day, all in the name of tourism, bit like the 288 last year and f40's this year
ASR has little to do with "taking off quickly"... It'll save your arse in normal driving for a long time... but when you've got enough experience it'll slow you down... I'd imagine 12-18 months before you're truly ready. You REALLY need to invest in a little Allan Simonsen insurance.. a few bucks spent with him (much much less than you'd imagine) will save you ten's of thousands in crash repairs... and you'll have a bloody good time too.
roger as u know it comes down to gut feeling, this thing just felt good and wtf why not its only money, the car is not gonna depreciate at the same rate a new RS4 (about same money) and who knows in 5 years time with maybe another 4000-5000km on the dial it might have gone up
