Alright time to chime in,just reurned from the SEMA show. The amount that Ramon paid would be to much if the condition didn't warrant it, and this guy did not communicate properly what the charges might be.The problem with collecting up front allows this service to get lazy and not follow through with SERVICE pro detailing quality is hard to come by because it is hard work, and it also takes having the passion for cars. The statement that I am busy is true, however when the shop is finally finished you guys will have one stop shopping and threads like this will not appear again.
I hear ya...... Bob sounds like he does phenomenal work and is worth every penny. I would use him for sure for swirls and other tough jobs. But for a basic wash and wax, it is worth my time and money to do the job. A good job will take me about 4 hours. And I don't make $1500 in an 8 hour work day. Thus, it makes sense for me to roll up the sleeves and do it!! ;-) I can't blame you either my friend for your opinion. You spend your working hours staring at Ferraris. To stare at one on your "off-time" would get REAL old. I don't get to look at mine enough. Thus, the "enjoyment factor" of spending a few hours polishing........... ;-)
Actually, they are the same price per girl. The "cost per .lb" is a LOT less though as our "girls" tend to run on the larger side........which is a God-awful thing!! ;-)
If you would pay him more he could afford to get drunk 3-4 times a week and the job would go faster. Ya think?
Lighting is where you can find it, a Wal-Mart parking lot is still a valid source. Rembrandt used to use the light cast from a window; it seemed to work well for him!
No f-ing wonder there aren't many woman subscribed to ferrarichat... Leslie, let me apologize for Greg's comments. I, for one, enjoy having women on the board. Not only your participation in the northern CA forum, but also the lovely photo of yourself which you posted recently. Ray
May I say that, while I think Greg was joking, she DID post a pic of herself in a bra (which is quite alright with me). If she had posted a pic of herself in a sweater, I am certain it wouldn't have been brought up. And clearly, with her looking as she does, I am guessing Greg was kidding. And she probably knows it. Could you imagine if guys here started posting pics of themselves in a Speedo?? It would be open season and merciless!!! ;-)
I respect Greg and 99% of his posts on this board, but I personally felt his comments above were a bit off the mark. I guess what matters in the end is how Leslie took it. Ray
oh, please don't give anyone any ideas. I often have a late dinner while reading Fchat at my desk... Ray

..ya know Bill..I really considered doing it. However..my better half talked me out of it..said that with my hairy posterior..I would look like some sort of "chia-pet!"
Hey no prob, I took it just fine, parking lights, tail lights? Greg would you untie me please, and don't fret, I'll take out the trash on my way out. . . Image Unavailable, Please Login
The picture reminds me of a poem The moon came into the forge in her bustle of flowering nard. The little boy stares at her, stares. The boy is staring hard. In the shaken air the moon moves her arms, and shows lubricious and pure, her breasts of hard tin. "Moon, moon, moon, run! If the gypsies come, they will use your heart to make white necklaces and rings." "Let me dance, my little one. When the gypsies come, they'll find you on the anvil with your lively eyes closed tight. "Moon, moon, moon, run! I can feel their horses come." "Let me be, my little one, don't step on me, all starched and white!" Federico García Lorca
Your understanding is appreciated, but don't worry about the trash, please. I think we might have upset Ray. He apparently is quite concerned that I may have insulted you. You know, dear, I'd never do that. Oh, and by the way, white is very becoming to you. The poem is quite appropriate, eh?
