Fastest I have been caught at is 70 in a 45. Not a biggie. Did the traffic school and all was well. I have been fortunate with my speeding adventures, had several 150-155 runs and not been caught. I havent done anything over 85-90 (on long road trips) in a while now, I think im over that speeding stage... untill i get a new car haha.

My friend got caught by Police Speed Camera Van on the outskirts of town. He got caught doing 200km/h in a 60km/h zone in his Nissan 200SX. He is awaiting to go to court. They have seized his car and he is looking at a short jail term he thinks. He is 19yrs old. They take speeding very seriously in QLD Australia. Australia wide is cracking down on it now. :)

Circa 1990, westbound I-70 going by Arrowhead Stadium , friend of mine riding leans over and looks at the speedo and sez '3 PM on a sunday afternoon, the Royals are playing, and Franco's going 115........'.
At that very moment a State Trooper was getting on I-70, I about locked up the brakes, got down to a lower speed, and that damned cop rode my bumper all the way to the airport, and he turned off. Didn't pull me over, though.

A year later, I was going 145 on I-29 Northbound, a bird hit my windshield right about where the rearview mirror is, and from that day on, after cleaning out my pants, I've never gone over 100. Bird died, all I saw was feathers in the mirror, windshield did not break.

    I learned my lesson.

(Man, that was 15 yrs ago !?)

I never make it out of town, they always nail me for no front plate. And I just keep getting them signed off.

...though once upon a time at an undisclosed stretch of highway, the needle tipped over 140, no revenue officer to "check" my speed on that.

Got nailed for 68 in a 55 when I was 16. About 4 years ago I took my TA to 140 on I-80 to re-educate a Honda boy. Glad no one saw that. ;)

for those of us familiar with southern california freeways, there was a time when I used to cruise to work at 7:00am in the morning going upwards of 125mph the whole 20 mile stretch that constitutes the 73 toll road connecting Newport with San Juan Capistrano. While I would never consider driving at such excessive speeds now, at the time that particular freeway was almost deserted going southbound, I would typically only pass 3 or 4 other cars between Jamboree and the 5 fwy.

I had all of the police hideouts memorized, so I knew where to slow down and where I could push my luck, unfortunately one morning I was running especially late and pushed my luck too far by only minimally slowing down as I approached one of their favorite hideouts. As I came around the corner and over the small crest, I was going about 140mph when I spotted the cruiser about 300yds ahead, so I had very little time to scrub off any speed. By the time I passed him I was going about 70mph, but it didn't matter. Using backwards-shooting car-mounted Radar, he clocked me at 111mph. If memory serves me correctly, I believe it was around 825 for the ticket and traffic school.

I've gotten five speeding tickets in my life, all in Italian cars, and in every case (except the first), it was while I was just toodling along with traffic.

The first was back when the Alfa and I were both 27 years younger, and even there I was only doing 70 in a 55. But that's the only time I got nailed while being "bad".

The others were just "revenue enhancement".

But I've gotten two different speeding tickets, 22+ years apart, in the same Alfa Romeo.

I was heading North on TN840 just north of Murfreesboro, TN following my best friend. He had a 300ZX andme in my Z3. I decided to pass my friend and thats when the TN state trooper appeared. I was doing about 120 when he clocked me. He got me but my friend got away. He came up to my car and asked to see my pilots license Which I gave to him. He laughed and gave it back to me and said slow it down.

I was the passenger in an '86 328GTSi when the car was brand new. It was my friend's dad's car and we were going back to his house to pick up my 928. Doing 110 down on the state road and the cherry lights up behind us. My buddy's sh*tt*ng his pants. Cop asks for his license. My buddy reaches into is back pocket and his wallet isn't there, but realizes he left it at home. Now he's dropping a bigger load in his pants. Cop asks his name. My buddy makes sure to enunciate very slowly and very clearly his last name. My buddy's dad was a physician and was known well by the local PD. Cop gives us the "if I ever see your ass again, yada yada yada, I'm thowing your butt in jail, yada yada yada" and lets us go. The look of relief on my friend's mug was priceless. Down deep inside, I'm laughing my ass off because hey, it wasn't my butt on the line. I probably would have gotten off the hook just as easily as my dad was the family doctor to half the town as well as a good number of local law enforcement personnel.

When I was 22 I got pulled over twice in my 5.0 mustang. First time was 135 in a 45 on 301 in Charles County MD. Second time 115 in the same area. I was given a ticket for negligent driving which was 1 point and $100 fine. Second time I was let off with a warning. Both times I was pulled over by 285Ferrari's boys AKA Charles County Sheriff. I have FD tag's so that usually help's when I get pulled over.

    140 MPH in a 45.

New Yamaha R1. Officer was cool... I owned the bike dealership just down the road and a customer had just purchased the very first R1 delivered to our shop. When he stopped by to pick up his plate a week later, he practically forced me to take it for a rip down the road!

The officer passed me going the opposite direction, we met after I cleared a slight rise in the road. I blew right past him and decellerated and just pulled over to the shoulder and waited for him. He was pretty cool about it though.

Court took it under advisment, just paid a fine. Lucky!

    LOL.

Cops always get tossed off their stride when they ask, "You know how fast you were going?", and I tell 'em "mid revs in 3rd". One cop looked at the GTV-6's instrument cluster -- with the big centered tach and the little offset speedo -- and suggested I file for the "equipment malfunction" excuse, 'cause that just didn't "look right" to him.

Have you heard the urban legend about the Wild Weasel pilots who got tired of the local cops staking out the base exit road with their radar guns, so they gave them a radar jammer pass -- and got a hard kill on three police car ignition computers.
