Strong recco for Gus @ Technik 1 in NYC http://technik1.com/ Or the boys at Detailing Dynamics in Mineola http://www.detailingdynamics.com/index.html Two of the very best!!!
Detailing Dynamics, definitely the best, and they will do a full wrap of the front if you want, which really means no visible seams at all. I just had mine done at the dealer before taking delivery. Was much easier for me, but DD would have done a much better (and more expensive) job.
Stuart, Take your time and do your homework. There are many different brands of films and different patterns. If you have any questions, i would be glad to explain the differences between the different films and patterns. There are full hood and fenders patterns available for you car, which is a nice option. Christopher
Call Laszlo @ 973-983-7662 or email @ [email protected]. He is listed on both 3M and Xpels website. Does installs for most of the Tri-state Ferrari dealers. His work is as good as the above mentioned, and makes house calls Christopher
Yup - I did. As far as I am concerned - Premeir in CA is the best. They are so well respected that I offered to pay to have them extend their NY tour. Unfortunately, they have a tight schedule and they can't accomodate me. When I the list for the "absolute best," I was expecting answers on a regional basis. Mineola is at least a 2.5 hour RT for me. For that - I figure I have lots of options. Still looking for opinions. Always looking for more info. S
I'm sure all these places have flatbeds. I know DD has one or access to one. If you want the best, the distance shouldn't be a problem
Detailing the dynamics is hands down your best option in the tri state area, and yes they do offer a flatbed service.
They are on the 3M site as a authorized installer in Fairlawn NJ. THis is for my new daily driver (Volvo V70R), not the F-Car. Also what are the views / experience in installing film on a 20 year old, nice, but not show quality Mondial 3.2 - its already got some rock chips and other marks up front, is it worth putting a clear bra on?
Awesome guy in NJ is: Phil TOP OF THE LINE 180 -A Route 46 E Lodi NJ 07644 www.topofthelinetint.com Phone: 973-745-0400 Mobile: 201-401-2530 email: [email protected] Marcello
I got my Corvette done there. They did a good job. They are experienced in tinting and clear bras. Thay are also 3M certified.
What I would do is clay bar the whole exterior. Follow it up with a machine polish. Then touch up as many chips that you can, Langka method. Then get the paint protection film applied. This will prevent new chips. Its the best thing you can do to a car that wasnt maintained from new. IMHO it will also add a little more value to the car. Christopher
Christopher - always nice to have a professional installer weigh in on the boards - especially one that is NYC based. Checked out your website, but seems under construction. Could you inform us of your address, what services you team offers, and what are your hours of operations. Thanks.
Vik, I have been in the detailing business for almost 20 years. In the last 5 years i have focussed mainly on Paint Protection Film. Im mobile right now and between my partner and I, we do most of the Exotic dealers in NY,NJ, and CT. Alot of of clients also take advantage of our home installs. We use what we feel is the best film, not cheapest or easier to install. We cut our own kits in house. Our plotter is capable of cutting full hood kits. This means i can cut a cut a kit for the F430 that would cover the entire hood, fenders and bumper. In the past the hood would have to be hand cut. I enjoy answering any questions people my have in regards to PPF. Im still working on the website but you can email me at [email protected] Christopher
No Stuart, I have done quite a few installs in New Jersey though. I can probably find that person if your interested. Christopher
Chris Kramer did my CS and GT3 Cup. It's a good job but I know how anal you are and I think you'd be disapointed.
I'd probably go with Detailing Dynamics since I know Eddie personally and I've seen and been impressed by their work. I think they can arrange a flat bed if you don't want to hoof it out to L.I.
Body Motion does a REALLY GOOD job, ive seen an install on a Ford GT and a Carrera GT they did, and it was awesome!!! you have to look really close to see it, the only warning id say is that if you already have soem chips in the front, if they put it on now there will be little air pockets. what they can do however is sand down ur paint just a little and respray it. bodymotion has a website www.bodymotion.com
Vik, I used Chris for a clear bra. He spent many hours on my Porsche, in my garage on a Friday night, and no one could of done any better then Chris. Not only is he a gentleman, but a great, honest guy. He showed up with his partner, who I can't remember his name, who was just as nice as Chris. These guys are car guys just like all of us. If anyone wants to know about it, they can e-mail me and I'll give you all the info.
