are there going to be any performance mods? are you going to swap wheels? are you planning on making all models with the f1 superfast or are there going to be traditional stickshifts? what colors? what cost? already sold? what is the target audience for this?
Not decided yet. Probably. Whatever the customer brings. Any colour you like. Priceless Yes, not built yet. Anyone who wants his/her 599 custombuilt to my design.
glad there are still people like you out there...any plans or provisions for a rebody of the 430 platform???
You said yes to the plans for rebody of the 430 do you have a sketches or anything? i would love to see them BTW I really like your GTO design, looks muscular
i love that there are still individuals out there that have the vision..and stones...to mod cars most brand purists would cry foul at the slightest mention. even though i love most ferrari designs, there are always little things that i wish i could 'change'...they are never gonna be 'perfect' to me--if ever it were possible, because they weren't designed for me, with my ideas/inputs. coachbuilders are the answer. Michiel, keep it going buddy!!! a rebodied 430 (or Carrera GT) would be stellar!!!
looks great but some resemblance to Marcos TSO (not that that is a bad thing): Image Unavailable, Please Login
I must admit I used to be one of those purists... Untill I found myself deeper and deeper in the world of Ferrari-owners and enthousiasts... I lost my naieve attitude here on Fchat. I had the same thoughts... more and more...
Check out the website of the craftsman who will be building this car: www.hietbrink.com I'm very proud to work with Alwin. (He's also an Fchat-member...) Image Unavailable, Please Login
hey, Michiel, are your builds strictly 'metal' bodied cars only, or do you/can you rebody them with carbon fiber--just wondering if you have the tooling for such materials (moulds, autoclave, etc...) or would those things have to be built as well?
good luck on this Michiel. Just curious, are you planning on keeping most everything beneath the skin to factory spec? Will new coachwork go over the existing shell or modify the existing body/chassis? What I mean is it looks to me like your car will be concentrating on essentially redesigning the bodywork and trim, and keeping the original chassis intact. For our next car we are using the modern drivetrain and suspension, but putting it on our own chassis and covering it with a new body. My concern was that with most modern cars the body skin is itself structural. I worried that removal of any of the original skin would weaken the chassis and felt our best option was to begin with a tube frame. Any chance we can get you to post the numbers once the construction begins? I'd love to know a baseline ft/lbs/deg torsional stiffness measurement on the stock 599 doner followed by numbers indicating how those numbers are affected as the chassis is modified. Thanx and good luck Chelle
The first car will be made out of aluminum, carbonfibre will be an option later. I'll keep the structure intact. The job will be similar to Zagato's 575 GTZ, changing only bodywork. What car are you talking about as "our next car"? It's up to the engineers to figure out this "problem" and inform me with it. I don't think it will be too much of a problem. I expect we'll have to put more effort in aerodynamics.
There is a nice article in Froilan Magazine of Ferrari Club Argentina about my artwork and designs. This article was made before I started my own company and before there were any plans on building the 599 GTO. The GTO even made it to the cover! Michiel, sorry for the slow reply, I just have been wondering what parts of the body might be structural. I haven't looked the construction of the 599 close enough to know how much of it's strength is drawn from the body. Was kind of wondering what parts might be able to be removed without really weakening it. For our next project we didn't plan on using the chassis from the doner car. "Our next car" is referring to something we're working on. We didn't want to use the chassis from the 599 as we didn't want to be tied to the wheelbase and track of the 599. Or next car is in development and parts gathering stage and is to be like our current GTO replica, but this time using drivetrain, chassis, and a large number of other parts from a 599 doner on a scratchbuilt tube frame. Essentially think of it as a 250 GTO streetrod. We are keeping the body looking original, but inside and under the skin will be all the new parts. The plan is to have the result look on the outside like a polished 250GTO, but inside have the fit and finish of the 599. On the road the hope is performance will be better than the 599 due to a lot less weight. I should add, this is just for our enjoyment, not any kind of run of cars for sale. Chelle
All the credits to you, Ron! Remember that all this started right here on Fchat. All the Fchat-passion inspired me to make these designs. The design of the GTO was made on request by one of the members and I did not have the intention to have this car actually built. What happened later was beyond my dreams. Now you'll be all witness of the realistation of my designerdream.
Michiel, I have a goal. Someday, I want to see one of your fantastic designs on the road. Preferably with me behind the wheel.
Something more unusual. If the Factory will have a Dino, then I would want something very different. The GTO, the quattroporte 612, a revised F430, I am not sure.
