I know, I know these have become quite common but in the near future my friend and I will be sitting down and deciding on specs and options. This is what we have come up with so far. F1 Stadard 19inch wheels Carbon Ceramic Rossa Corsa Nero leather Maroon carpets(cant remember actual name) Daytona seats with red inserts and red stiching* Shields Normal steering wheel * this is the big debate, this options was my choice, is it a good, one, am thinking on the lines of emulating those classic seats fitted to some Daytona's where in the inserts were red inserts, anyone have pic of this option ina modern day Ferrari? Anything else thats recommeded?
i wouldnt get maroon carpets but thats just me, and i think red inserts and stiching on black leather would be a little busy for my taste, but still very nice
Here is a F430 with what I think you're looking for. Any reasons as to why you haven't chosen the Enzo wheel? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Perfect that exactly what I was looking for! The reasons behind the wheel is, it might be a bit too distracting a part of me thinks its a bit of a gimmick, might be bit distracting at night. Car will be an F1. As for the capets I value any sort of opinion, maroon was the option to brighten up the interior as apposed to the nero carpets and the black dash. Am trying to convince my friend that perhaps red carpets might be ideal solution though he is keen on maroon....
I recomend black carpet. It always seems to work better but spend some time on Ferrari USA site and DuPont Registry to see burgundy carpets. I would have said no to the red inserts but the picture is great. Do the red inserts and stitching with black carpet???
Anything other than black carpets in a black interior would hideous. Brighten up the interior with stitching and seat inserts.
I think that Rosso Corsa is wrong for the 599. It's too big a car to be red. It looks really good in dark colors - Pozzi or TDF Blue, Black, Grigio Silverstone, Titanium. It also looks outstanding in Argento (silver) with black seats with silver stitching. I saw all of these colors at the factory in July. The one red car in the QC area simply looked wrong. My VHO of course. I also think that the 20 inch wheels are much better suited to the to car than the 19 inch pentagram, which is a real throwback to the past. The LED steering wheel is a must as is the Carbon Fiber trim. Options that are not worth it it are the high end stereo and the worse than useless Sat Nav system. Different color stitching and piping helps to put some texture into the interior and to differentiate it from other brands who don't offer that level of customization. I would also choose the yellow rev counter and the number one option that you must absolutely get is the Carbon Ceramic Brake system. Once you you go CCB you never go back!
My car is in Rosso Scuderia and I could not be happier with the colour. I hate the pentagram wheels so the 20" wheels are a required option as are the carbon ceramic brakes. The LED wheel is a must in my opinion. Completely agree that the yellow tach is a must. Stitching and piping depends on the look that you want.
Have you had any squeal or screeching noises with the ceramic brakes? The only V-12 I have had was a 612 and the metal brakes were embarrassing at every intersection. I am looking for a solution on the next car.
Yellow dial is also a must, thats being ordered too, carpets are main stumbling point, will have a look at the FerrariUSA site and see from there, though I do concede black carpets might look better. 410SA: choosing anything other than Rossa Corsa or Rossa Scuderia in the South African context isnt an easy decision, makes the car extremely hard to sell, there simply arent takers for other colours.
Have them trim out the carpets (I would use black carpets) in the same red leather as you are using on the seat. It will give a nice color continuation without introducing yet another color...the red or bordeaux carpet color will not really match the leather no matter what color leather you use.
Maybe a more darker red? I saw this one and I thought it looked the best. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is the way I am thinking, the maroon carpets arent the way to go, the red carpetes to complement the piping on the seats would probably look a lot better. Have seen a 550 with the combination and it looks great.
If you're like me, most of your "spirited" driving will be done in the day, where as night-time is more conservative driving style to suit the conditions of poor visibility. If that's the case, you're unlikely to wind-up the motor so hard as to have the shift-change LEDs light-up on the wheel. Does anyone know if the lights are less-bright when the headlights are on for this reason, or if there's a way to turn them on/off ? In any event, I think a lot of people really like the Enzo-wheel option, so from purely a re-sell viewpoint it might make a lot of sense to order it (since you mentioned that re-sell was a consideration).
Very good point, have done some looking and the standard wheel isnt all that nice, so might have to consider the other wheel with the shift lights, what has happened though is that the order has been put back for some reason, meaning will only get the car much later than expected, meaning that keeping the 430 is also a strong possibility(a definate at this stage) I should add that this isnt in fact my car, just a good friend and I we both enjoy Ferraris, he shares his motoring with me and we have both specced his previous two cars and of course for the 599 the help and input from others on here is most valuable, IMHO ordering a Ferrari one can get so focussed on what one feels is the ideal that one actually doesnt think about other options and combinations that would also look great, that where the helpful and insighful people on here come in. Other option that we are taking are red brake calipers.
A group of us attended both 599 introduction receptions held in south Florida last week. We viewed first a silver 599, then a black, and fianlly a red. Without any hesitation, all of us decided that the red car, with a red stitching black interior, was by far the most impressive: Image Unavailable, Please Login
IMO you should get the new dark red color or a blue color. The Rosso Corsa 599 that I saw didn't look very good at all. The blue one was awesome!
It's not even close to being the same as an Enzo steering wheel. It just has the LEDs and carbon fiber, that's the only difference.
Rossa Barchetta, is the the colour you are talking about? Have seen a pic of a 430 in that darker red and I must say that colour does appeal, where is Rosso Scuderia looks too orange...
No, sorry. The cars were locked, and the glare from the glass prevented a goo photo. The car was exactly like I would order.
Black is also nice, although its a less vibrant and noticable colour, it looks quite nice in my opinion. Heres a picture from supercar.net (Monaco Top Marques i believe). http://www.*************/Pics?viewPic=y&source=gal&uID=119513&gID=758&pgID=2&pID=348293 I sat in one similar to this at Goodwood F.O.S. this year, which was pretty high spec. It had the carbon dashboard, CCB, Enzo wheel, F1 paddle shift, lots of extra leather and sports seats, they are nice extra's if your willing to spend some more. Blue, Silver, Grey, Dark Red and Rosso Corosa all look nice though in my opinion. Although choosing would be difficult for me to decide as well.
