How some people dont like the look of an Enzo? I know nothing in the world is going to please everyone, but man anyone who likes sports cars and dosent like the looks of an Enzo must be blind or jealous or something. I understand the 612 or the 400i. But man since the first time I saw the enzo and F-40 It was love at first sight, some cars take a while to grow on me but not those 2.

It's a very radical design; certainly not for everyone. It's like a politician; if it were watered down enough to where a majority of the people would like it, it would lose its appeal.

    Hey

To me the Enzo is a celebration of Ferrari's resurgance in F1. I think the design reflected that very well. There is no question that many don't respond to it but IMO that is simply taste.

Strangely I think the Enzo is one of those cars that look much better in the carbon than in photo's.

I also agree with Carbon that in Black it looks best but once again simply my taste.

Tru dat. The overall concept of the car worked flawlessly. I saw one over the weekend at the French Quarter Classic and until you see one in the carbon you haven't really seen one. The pictures (and videos) don't do it justice. The proportions of the shape come into their own and it all just works. Really well, I might add. One of the most heartpounding cars I've ever seen. For comparison, the Carrera GT that was there looked good, but the pictures pretty much look the same as the actual car does. Not so with the Enzo. And I have to agree with Carbon and Mr. G, it does look best (at least in pictures) in black. With black leather and black wheels.

Each to their own I guess. I love the Enzo. Some people dont. Everyone will have different opinions about the car and everyone has different tastes. I cant wait to see one in person one day. It will be the best day of my life I reckon. :D:D

You put an Enzo up against a 250 SWB and tell me I get to pick one, and I dunno, I'd probably go for the 250...... but it would be close.

    End of story.

I think the Enzo is a design masterpiece, with it stealthy looks whereas others still believe beauty can only be obtained with the use of as much curvy lines as possible.

Although i dont like the design, i'd agree with the above comment.

Eric, what do you think of the MC12?

If i was to try and explaing why i dont like the design of the Enzo, i suppose it would be due to the sharp lines on the car. I must admit, the car has grown on me slightly over the years however other cars I admire more such as the F50, Lamborghinis etc. Its the same as the F50, some say its the ugliest Ferrari but I love it, strange!

You have the driving experience from it which I'm sure is awesome and this may sway your opinion slightly.

I don't get it when people say the Enzo is ugly. Maybe because I'm so enamored with the car I don't see what people can preceive as ugly.

Any color ... in print or in person ... I only see an intense, sharp and aggressive supercar.

The Enzo is my ultimate dream car, but, I've been up close and personal with the F40 and if there needs to be a shortstop to the Enzo, the F40 would be it.

It's interesting that Ferrari calls the Enzo "F1 for the street". To me, it looks like an updated Group C racecar or an enclosed, current-gen LMP racecar. Whatever the styling is called, I like it, especially when seen in person.

I've never seen an Enzo in person but am not a fan: I have seen very few exotics in person, and expect that this is true for most mortals. Therefore we rely on photos of most cars and make our preferences strictly on how they appear in two dimensions. Many cars do look much better in person (personal example being my former Mondial in bright silver!). Frankly, just from pics and videos, one of my absolute car silhouettes is the McLaren F1. I love my TR, but find the Boxer a more beautiful car (once again never having seen one up close). Thus I am not necessarily biased in favor of Ferraris or even my own vehicles.:)

So true. Seeing one always amazes me.

Also, some people don't like the form and function aspect of it's looks.

on the contrary, i cannot understand how you can not love the design of 612; such an astonishing classic, a true beauty

enzo is not what many regard as a trully beatiful car, and it wasn't the main aim while creating it

and i fully agree that it looks many many times better in person

The P4/5 is what the Enzo should have looked like.
I hope that the Ferrari F60 will look something like the P4/5. Jim is very lucky.:)

Eric, you purchased the car for YOU. The car is great, you look good in it, it sounds cool, goes fast, you feel good about owning it, right?...so why even care what others think? As they say, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

Having said that, from an overall design standpoint looking at post-war sports cars for the street, its easy to see why some people dont like the Enzo. The design incorporates lots of radical and angular lines, and all manner of intersecting planes. Its a busy-to-the-eye design with lots going on that interrupts the flow of long voluptuous flowing lines that some have come to appreciate in their benchmark sports cars (275 GTB, Miura, to name just 2 examples). The Enzo is more stunning, striking, shocking perhaps. But many can hardly describe it as beautiful in the traditional sense. Thats where you get those that dont appreciate it. My teenage son is a great gauge for me on what's hot & whats not, and sometimes he says about a particular car such as the Enzo: "Dad, Im just not feelin' it" (as they say these days..LOL), and there is nothing you can do about that.

I say drive it, enjoy it, the hell with understanding why others dont appreciate this or that. I beleive as a car collector, you have to be true to YOURSELF first....

    Joe

While I wouldn't define it as "beautiful," is one of the greatest-looking cars out there in my opinion. And absolutely, it looks so much different in the flesh than in the print; the addition of the third dimension really has a profound impact on the car. It looks so much more bad-ass and stealthy when you see it with your own eyes.

As for beauty, that is a term I would save for the traditional sports cars, such as 25 California Spyder, 275 GTB, '63 Corvette Split Window, etc

A bit off topic, but, maybe it's just me but I regard the F50 as THE F1 car for the street. The Enzo is more a straight up supercar with some F1 style tech.

Never had the pleasure of seeing one in person, but I really don't like the looks of the Enzo. I'll agree that it looks dramatic and intense, but I'm not a fan.

IMO the design is too busy. Too many things to attract the attention of the eye. The rear end, in particular, with the Marty Feldman taillights is wrong.

In contrast, the smooth lines of the Daytona, TdF or 275 GTB are much more attractive and appealing to the eye. All the elements flow nicely together, and it's apparent that a single hand was involved in the design.

Having said that, I have the utmost respect for you and your car, and I wish you many years of happy enjoyment.
