I was giving the S class a chance to grow on me, but I'm still not loving the wheel arches. same prob with the CL.

    I prefer the CLS...

I think it looks better than the new one that they are building. The new S-class is certainly growing on me.

I thought it was ugly in person and I think it is ugly in pictures.

Does anyone have any pictures of the diamond sl500?

I have some I just have not downloaded them yet.

It looks like they took an S-class and made it into a 2-door. Not a new idea. It has been done recently with the Chrysler 300s. 2 door coupes and verts from a 4 door base.

I think that one is ugly. I used to think the new S-class was hideous in pictures, but it has grown on me a little. It needs to be black, though (with clear coat, lol).

I just saw the new CL class this past weekend at the Regent Beverly Wilshire. I was attending a charity event and there Mercedes was auctioning off the New CL. I must say pictures do no justice for this car. It is absolutley beautiful. Very luxurious looking and the wheel arches are not as noticeable as you think. This car was sliver/black with the sport package. My uncle had his CL55 there and next to the new CL, the 55 looks way outdated and not as nice looking.

My biggest problem with the new CL is the raised hood line. I think it just looks horrible. It doesn't even follow the front fenders, it simply juts out. I guess you can thank the lame-ass Euro pedistrian laws. It has lost te "sleekness " of the previous model. If there was a way to cut down the hood and grill size the car would look MUCH better.

That brown just doesn't make since. I do like the new CL-class though with the new lines.

The wheel arches are the "in thing" these days, they look good.

I personally think Mercedes did a great job with every S - SL - CL class they've made since the conception of the name.

The new CLK though.... PIECE OF SH^T !!! It looks like a Nissan.

My brother just got the new S550, I hated the new S-class at first but it does grow on you in person. Especially after driving, I love the dynamic drive seating or whatever. I wish my car had that.

Looking past the tacky add-ons, I think the CL has tremendous presence, which is important for a car in that class.

Well, that car with the tacky add-ons is a custom S-class made into a 2 door. It doens't look like the new CL other than the interior and side windows (the rear window isn't correct). http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news/0607_2007_mercedes_benz_cl_class/

Ah, good call, the accent lines across the side aren't CL either.

I thought something didn't look quite right about it! The real CL doesn't do anything for me, and that's worse. As with SimonF40, I'd prefer a CLS... or a Quattroporte!
