Jim Been sitting here for awhile going through the 3K + posts... This car is amazingly beautiful ! I know its probably been mentioned somewhere in this thread, but my eyes are getting blurry . how long did it take to from concept to actually driving it ? An on another note, what other wonderful cars do you have in your collection ? Best of Luck ! Tom
Just thinking Jim - I was driving a 997 a few days ago and was flashed by a college girl - I am sure that you have gotten your share of 'exotic' responses. Any ones resound in your mind? Regards, -Jon
lol, not to burst your bubble, i got the same response in my 2000 chevy malibu, , but i'm sure a 997 would probably liven up the mood a tad bit better.
Jim, what the closest the P 4/5 is going to get to Dallas Texas. I would love to see her in person but I realy cant travel any vast distances currently to see her, I sure wish we had a big car show here so you would bring the P4/5 on by. O'well Wish Wish Wish.
Does anyone know the top speed of the P4/5, it should go faster than the Enzo and that can pull 220mph. Is it up in Veyron/McL F1 range?
Your car model of it is cool man, but I'm talking about "REAL" car sims like the upcoming Forza 2 for XBOX 360 and GT5 for PS3, where the physics are much more accurately modeled, and the cars in those games are also really high poly by default. Again your car is really sweet, but I wish I could have it in one of those games, maybe Jim's planning that, lets hope.
The model could work in one of those games I have downgraded the poly count to get it in games. But I here ya, I cant wait for jim to get it in a good game. I have faith that Jim will get it in a game if a great gaming series offers. Jim said it need's to be shared with the world, and what eaiser way than getitng it's likeness in a game for everyone down to the 9 year old kids on up to the old gamers to have fun with. All I know is it should defietly be in PGR4 since that always been a Ferrari game. I am guessing since it has Ferrari badging the game licenseing will follow suit with only allowing F-cars in the best games.
As a teenager who has been playing driving games all my life, I absolutely agree that if you really want to develop a devoted and admiring fanbase that will respect your car, have it depicted in games and the like. I learned nearly everything I know from Gran Turismo and other racing games, and especially which car brands to respect and which models to lust for. I'm sure everyone's fascination for cars and speed developed at a young age, just because the format has changed it's still no different. This car is something special and I'm certain a young gamer-oriented audience would absolutely love it.
hey jim, i was wondering this, and after reading through most of the posts i couldn't find an answer. exactly what made you think about doing this project? i mean, what was it that gave you the idea to build p4/5? i understand that it was to build a car reminiscant of the older p3's and p3/4's, but what made you decide to build a car that did resemble them?
As far as i know he was approached by Pininifarina and asked if he had any ideas that he may want created into a car, as i guess they were doing some more one-off orders at the time.... I could be wrong but that's what I've read..... Posted by = C'one "Physics wise, rfactor ,GTR2,GTL ,live for speed,Netkar pro etc(for PC)eats them for dinner" I totally agree, I was just commenting on the games that I enjoy, i have GTR2 and it is really sweet, but I'm more into the street racing, tuning street cars thing like Forza 2 and GT4 and 5 offer, but not fast and the furious crap....
I think that's Jim's inspiration came from his love of retro Ferraris, and most importantly, the classic lines of the P3 and p3/4. After all, he owns one. Life is short, we may as well live it to its fullest! Regards, -Jon
nice write up on the p4/5 in winding road, jim. i'm also a fan of the mag as others have posted. seems to have made a name for itself in a relatively short period of time. jeff
I agree to an extent, but only respectable car games (Forza and GT). These are the only two sims that I've come across that have true-to-life physics engines. PGR3 was ok, but definitely lacked in some areas. Put the car in NFS and you might as well kiss the respect goodbye.
