92 Mondial t fuel cell:-(

Hi gang,

I'm looking for a good used Mondial t fuel cell. I have a severly imploded/deformed fuel tank due to a horribly botched re-installation (hoses) of my 348 engine after a 30k major service. I'll tell you all about it a bit later - but the accompanying picture is more than just a hint The important thing is to get that compromised part out of my Rachel's (the car) life before it fails structurally and ends up killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Do not know what year but Silicon Valley Auto Group had a new Mond fuel tank sitting for years in the parts department. If they still have it I would bet they would love to be rid of it. Redhead here is the dept manager. If you have trouble getting him PM me and I'll find a number.

 

For that kind of $, Just drive with one tank!?

It looks like it may actually be easily repairable by a good metal shop to be honest - don't you live in LA for goodness sakes?

I was looking at a new one but was able to resolve without a purchase... www.ferraripartsexchange.com did have access to one for me though.

Hank, I am sure that could be repaired. Failing that, you could get one custom made for less than a new one, and still get it coated in the same heat resistant goopy stuff.....

I can't wait to hear this story though......

The tank for the Mondial t is a single unit, part #133966 (for USA only).
As for doing "body work" on mine, I'm a bit concerned about metal stress. I think I'll be more confident replacing mine with one that has not been structurally traumatized. I also want to stay with a pure Ferrari part.

Me too. Did they drop the motor on the tank? Did they lower the car whilst on the lift onto something below?

 

Nope, looks like the vent lines were crushed or blocked somehow. Literally sucked in...

 

Nope, the plumbing of the EVAC system was done cockeyed and it created a 15 PSI suction on the fuel tank whenever the engine was running. It could have been a DISASTER. I'll post pics ASAP.
