Alright I have heard multiple numbers i have heard 399, 400, 420, and 440 so which is it. Officially Ferrari says 399 then the one extra for the tsunami auction so 400 but i guess you can take that with a grain of salt. So what is the "real" number?

Not trying to be ******, just plugging a great publication and an article written by a great Ferrari enthusiast, Carbon McCoy. See Volume 31, Number 20 (7 October, 2006). There are more than 400...

399 + 100 = 499 ex. (as said by Luca Cordero Di Montezemolo himself).

    When?
for me it was 349+ 50 +1 (stunami) numbers officials.
now there s no official number up to 399 units confirmed by Ferrari
we re suppose that they built 440 but the registrer is not completed at this
time, i think that the official registrer inberchetta it s near to 220 units
repertoried, for myself i ve got only 241, in my knowledge only NNO got
    near to 340 units repertoried.

on day my friend, we will get them all.

i have a theory, that when the big players step up an order lots cars at a time, arnt counted, for example if the Sultan of Brunei wants 10 cars they arnt counted, i'm not suggesting he has any this is an example only, but my reasoning is simple they own the Country, DMV etc so all the VIN';s are not needed because they control everything and only have to answere to the Govts they own. Same with the Al Maktoum family in Dubai-they have a relationship with BMW(I know this for a fact). So what does this mean? probalaly 100 extra units that not racorded, its very profitable for Ferrari lots of extea units with no additional R & D expense, just production costs.

I remember a topic here . There it was said that the extra ones (i mean after the 400th) could be identified from their tail badge. It was not the usual logo but the autograph of Enzo Ferrari. And here's the pic.

What do you think about it Carbon?

    399 - 400 - 440. Who cares?

How many 1:18 models have been made? Will it tell us that in FML?

I never heard that. I only know of one Enzo with Enzo Ferrari's signature on the back like that; I'm pretty sure that was custom ordered and does not signify the extra cars.

Uh, no; but I can tell you how many Enzo models I have. :)

I agree, Zach, that picture is hard to look away from.

NNO, you made me think twice about this... If they made two batches of 50 additional cars you should count starting from before the first 50 (349 + 50 = 399). Then + 50 = 449. I think it's closer to the real thing. Quattroruote (early 06 issue), If I remember well he said the new Dino got a "no" because they wanted to keep the high exclusivity of Ferrari. And something about Ferrari could be involved in a new sport Lancia project (road car engine probably).

Someone in this forum talked about the special full red Enzos (painted side skirts and venturi tunnels) with tan interior for sale in UK (a serie of 8 cars...). I wonder if they weren't in the extra-399 range. Anyone have infos about those cars ?

Its not limited to red Enzos, I've seen at least one yellow one with painted skirts, and I doubt its significant other than as a way to customize the car.
