I'm in a bit of a jam and need some help. My 348 has Agip Sint 2000 in it. Not by my choice but PO. The oil level is now to a point where I really don't want to drive it until I add some. The only place I can find the stuff is on the website and will take 2 weeks to get. If I have to wait that long I'll just go have it changed to Mobil 1.

Does anyone in the Tampa Bay area have a couple of quarts of Sint 2000 or know where I can buy it localy?

Try calling Tim Stanford in Fort Lauderdale. I'm sure he has some, although I don't know if it is okay to ship it. they used the Agip in my 348 when I first got it about a year and a half ago.

You can add a quart of another oil to top it off without any problem. are we really that anal that one quart of oil will keep a car off the road?, come on now

First off make sure that you are checking the level while the enigne is running in at least warm. There is no oil on the dip-stick if the engine is off.

Second: you can add any type of oil into the car. Even regular 99c-Walmart oil if you need to. Mobil-1 or any other synthetic is recommended though.

One quart wouldn't keep me off the road but 1 mm under the Min mark would and should.

I'm only trying to add the same so I can just go till my next oil change. The last one was done 2k miles ago and still looks like it came out of the bottle. Otherwise I would add whatever and drive it to the shop for it's oil change.

I checked it hot but the manual said check it right AFTER turning it OFF... I'll try it running in the morning. The dealer who did the oil change only put in enough to fill it to the MIN line, just being cheap I guess

Thanks to all for the replys,
    Ben

As far as I know, Tim Stanford uses Valvolene racing oil. At least thats what he use to use on my car when I had it. Just top it off if you need to , won't hurt.

I think he adapts the oil based on the the specific factors of each car....

He put the Shell Helix in mine.... $19 per liter... I was like.... Gee, thanks Tim.

Then he talked me into why it was worth the extra money.
