Overcompensation for one's heterosexuality combined with homophobia is a sign of latent homosexual tendencies.

I have absolutley NOTHING to add to this thread, and since it seems to be the blackhole of fchat this week, and I have little/no input yet, I am am going to post some useless **** on the subject of Lorem Ipsum just so I can fit in.

    Roots of 'lorem ipsum'?
'Lorem ipsum' is not simply random text. It is actually over 2000 years old and it has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC. 'Lorem ipsum' comes from sections 1.10.32 and 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum" (The Extremes of Good and Evil) written in 45 BC by Marcus Tullius Cicero. The first line of 'lorem ipsum', "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet...", can be read out of a line from section 1.10.32. This book was very popular during the Renaissance and it is a treatise on the theory of ethics.

Section 1.10.32 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum",
written by Cicero in 45 BC

"But I must explain to you how all this mistaken idea of denouncing pleasure and praising pain was born and I will give you a complete account of the system, and expound the actual teachings of the great explorer of the truth, the master-builder of human happiness. No one rejects, dislikes, or avoids pleasure itself, because it is pleasure, but because those who do not know how to pursue pleasure rationally encounter consequences that are extremely painful. Nor again is there anyone who loves or pursues or desires to obtain pain of itself, because it is pain, but because occasionally circumstances occur in which toil and pain can procure him some great pleasure. To take a trivial example, which of us ever undertakes laborious physical exercise, except to obtain some advantage from it? But who has any right to find fault with a man who chooses to enjoy a pleasure that has no annoying consequences, or one who avoids a pain that produces no resultant pleasure?"

Section 1.10.33 of "de Finibus Bonorum et Malorum",
written by Cicero in 45 BC

"On the other hand, we denounce with righteous indignation and dislike men who are so beguiled and demoralized by the charms of pleasure of the moment, so blinded by desire, that they cannot foresee the pain and trouble that are bound to ensue; and equal blame belongs to those who fail in their duty through weakness of will, which is the same as saying through shrinking from toil and pain. These cases are perfectly simple and easy to distinguish. In a free hour, when our power of choice is untrammelled and when nothing prevents our being able to do what we like best, every pleasure is to be welcomed and every pain avoided. But in certain circumstances and owing to the claims of duty or the obligations of business it will frequently occur that pleasures have to be repudiated and annoyances accepted. The wise man therefore always holds in these matters to this principle of selection: he rejects pleasures to secure other greater pleasures, or else he endures pains to avoid worse pains."

The option of what pleasurable, low pain choice one would make has varied significantly over the ages. A modern era man could, for example, choose owning alpinesilver19 for pumping and dumping and generally being a horse's behind on F-Chat.

Thanks for this classical insight so relevant to the thread at hand.

IMO this thread raises two fundamental questions:
    1) How long until the nimrod du jour gets banned...
and 2) How long after that, until Webby lobbies to let them back in.

    Hey
    >:-(
For the record I was NOT one of the "ballers" who sent him an encouraging PM. I still think he is a scumbag and that anybody who drops out of high school is a worthless ball of feces, I'm just going to keep that kind of stuff to myself because he's not worth it. And even if he does get a Ferrari he goes in the category of people who have and don't deserve.

Oh wow, 7 people who dropped out of high school and went on to succeed. I could make a list a hundred times longer with successful smart people who DID complete high school. The only thing is, it's so noteworthy and rare when somebody drops out of high school and still succeeds that it's actually recorded. But what the hell does that have to do with this? Ok there's exceptions but in this case, he's clearly a white trash dumbass who couldn't even pass high school. And you spelled "guess" wrong.

I'm not discussing "him". You called "everyone" who drops out of high school "a worthless ball of feces". Instead of discussing "him", you chose to insult some people I would be proud to have dinner with (and one who I did have lunch with :D )

    Oops.
