FXX & 599

They are all really great cars, it is that simple.

I am not crazy about the fxx though, because you cannot drive it on the road, still would be a load of fun though

 

All reports I've read indicate that the 599 surpasses all expectations... According to the last issue of Rossa, the 599 laps Fiorano about 7 seconds faster than an F40. Its straightline speed isn't too surprising considering that the engine is sourced from the Enzo, but the handling is said to be otherworldly. Looks aside, I'd be surprised if you weren't taken by it upon driving one.

I would do the same ! Stick on the plates of your Enzo on it and the regular cop wont tell the difference

 

what would the cops do if they caught you on the streets with an FXX?

 

I didn't think you got to 'keep' your FXX. Doesn't Ferrari take them to all the events?

 

Imagine the amount of car alarms it'd set off

 

You could keep the FXX in your own possession if you like.

BTW, when I finally heard the 599s in person the other day, they sound sick.. Has anyone on the board gotten theirs yet that resides in the US?

 

it think so because the one i sat in at the dealer had some guys name on a card in front of it thanking him for leaving the car there, they dont let many people at all sit in it, i was very greatful and lucky, man its still in my head and I sit in world class cars all the time, of course no mattter what the car after a week it feels normal

I dont think the cops would do much with the FXX they dont know what it is, i have had similar experience in a Diablo GTR i have it registered and insured-i cant comment any more than everything worked out for "85 or more i couildnt tell" in an 35 and "I was going to call the helicopter I thought you saw me and instantly you were gone I mashed the gas and you still disappeared alike a crotch rocket, what the hell is this thing, I kow it aint a normal Lambo or kit car" cop was in his late 20's and never happier in his life-I thought I was gettting life he was so happy, I walked I had nol insurance papers(with me)-i told him they blew out cause there was no glove box, no Drivers licence-i lost it(True story) dont have one now either. He asked me to tell him about the car I replied"I'm not into self -incriminating statements however when he was done doing what ever he was going to do to me and we were offically done with all paper work i would be happy to tell him everything about the car and give him a ride or let him drive it. I walked on everything except noDL or INS papers so all I had to do was show proof later didnt cost me anything. Afterwards I told him everything and he was cool gave me his card and told me to call him to go hang out some time, his back up guy who was anoreix wasnt to friendly(very quite) but at an accident 2 years later he was there and i walked up and introduced myself, he remembered and said his partner is still talking about that car 2 years later. moral of the story give them a memorie and you might be ok.

I got popped the other night for 85 in a 45 in the Enzo and walked, he asked for a drivers licence and all I said I had was a credit card made a joke and all was good the other officer said he had a testarossa, so i switched grears to his car and we chatted for a few minutes and came home, nice guys. point is you get more with sugar than vinigar or kissing ass. He said you know why iu'm pulling you over? I said "i was going fast showing my friend the shift points on the F-1 Tranmission, he said yes we had you at 85, I agreed but he said thats not the reason, I said "Oh Boy I'm in trouble now" He said no you just dont have a plate on the car I said "sure I do" and handed it to him, i told him it didnt match the look of the car and made a joke aout of it, said here is is the insurance reached in my pocheet pulled out a stack of $$ and credit cards and said "oops I dont have a licence but I do have a credit card and handed it to him" Game over they were laughing I was too. I said if you noticed where I opened it up at "just a little" there were no cross streets and was being mindful of safty because there were no cars either.

I was also in Vegas this weekend and stayed at the Wynn and let me tell you the pictures of the 599 do no justice for the car. The 599 in person is absolutley stunning. I even liked it better than the 430. My buddy was with me and he owns a 430 spyder, when he saw the car, he was blown away on how nice it looked. IMO one of the best looking Ferrari's ever made.

And I think it's great that you've found a car, which isn't limosine, which you can use as a daily drive. I assume that you back is still a problem? So congratulations on having a car you can actually use on a daily basis which is still a ordinary sports car
