Ant , i love these cars! is it a hookeye, the back lights, are they the hook shaped ones? I love the interiors of Maseratis, some of the best in the world in my opinion regards, Matthew
Thanks Matthew! Glad you like them so much! Took some pictures of the engine & interior as well today so will post them up later. Non-boomerang lights i.e. non-hook shaped. Just about to go to Sainsbury's in it. Better park in the mother & children area for safety reasons i.e. no one bashing it when they open their car doors!! Antonia
Don't you dare young man!!! I have two small children, one 16 months the other 4 years and there's nothing that winds me up more than people doing this! Just park it out of the way of any other cars, take up two spots if you have to, that's what I do if I'm in a nice car. Please don't park in the mother and children area! And don't park in the disabled either....
Its ok Antonia, just do as you wish! Theres been numerous debates over the years about the parking scenario etc. I personally just park over two spaces........ Once again, I love the maseratis, they are just so refined.
Gotta agree. Park right at the bottom of the car park. Plus, you then get to admire it from afar as you wonder back.....
Yep, did'nt realise to start with and then it dawned on me...still shouldn't park in mother and child parking though...no number of bedates will change my mind, it's rude, arrogant and down right ignorant!!!! Anyone who does this should be ashamed of themselves!!!!
Well, I know what you are saying - but was my first day in the car & when went to the mothers & children after work I was the only car there - 1 out of 20 spaces - so did not feel bad... Also my boss just had his M6 trashed at the same Sainsbury's at the weekend - £1500 damage... So thought as a one off OK. Now am used to reversing my 4200 into tricky spaces so that means will take one space in future in a normal space... Apols if came across badly over this BTW - I can actually have a disabled bay if I like as have a shed load of metal in my right leg but prefer not to take up on offer...
No problem Antonia, apologies if I came across a little short too. I wasn't having a go at you personally just all people who do this...it's just really unfair...anyway enough said about it. As it was your first time and there was plenty of spaces around you I'll let you off, but just this once mind LOL! I haven't got a problem with people taking up two spots as when I used to go to the supermarket in my XKR I used to do. I think most people uderstand it because there's some seriously careless people at supermarkets. Enjoy your 4200 and drive it like it should be driven... Kind regards. Darren.
Antonia, I wonder if I can get a disabled badge for the shed load of metal I have (in my garage) Seriously though I assume you have broken your leg perhaps coming off a bike. That is my bet. As for parking in Mother and Baby spots, there is nothing in the highway code on parking in these spaces. However in theory a disabled space on private property (e.g) supermarket, is not enforced by the law, but by the supermarket owners.
Can anyone provide a valid reason why "mother and baby" parking spaces even exist?!?! I guess thats why we see more and more fat kids....lack of exercise Granted they are wider and I guess this is to assist with push chairs etc but why so close to the entrance to the supermarket???? why not tooked away in a corner Id never park in a disabled bay but "mother and baby".....always...haha
Our local Sainsburys has loads of M&B spaces,why?Most of the mothers can go shopping during the day,when its quiet.Its like oap's shopping on a Saturday,just doing it to get in the way.Time for a culling methinks.
It I believe is down to space. If you notice M&B spaces are quite wide and when you have a baby/child in a car seat you need the room to be bending down strapping the child in. Stood by the car door with it wide open etc etc.. As for why they are nearly always near the entrance of the supermarket is anyone's guess When my daughter was alot younger we used them all the time, up until she was about 7/8. It does make the task easier.
Nope, that's what most people assume. I won't bore you all with the real story (a real loser's story!!) but it happened in Thailand & was not a MVA. However, I can say I had fun comparing x-rays at hospital check-ups with people who had had bike accidents - we were real saddos & my x-rays were always the most spectacular!!!
I never park in either disabled or M&B, but see no reason why anyone should not be allowed to park in M&B's. They are just wider spaces for all!!! Of course I need the exercise so parking a distance is good for me
I agree, disabled parking spaces are a necessity but M&B, I mean what did mothers do before they were invented?? maybe so that they can all bash each others doors.....haha
Before they were invented it probably wasn't compulsory to have child seats, you try getting a child in to a child seat in a normal parking space, it's a nightmare! It's purely down to space, makes it much easier. Why they are near the front entrance though I've no idea. I'd be quite happy for them to be anywhere in the car park as long they were left for people to use them for what they are intended! I can tell the ones on here who are not parents.
You dont have to be a parent to be in a situation of placing a child into a child seat as I do regularly with my niece. Anway since when do you see a supermarket car park completely full to bursting....prob very rarely....so why not park in an area of the car park least used....problem sorted Its the world gone mad.......next we will be having designated parking spaces for anyone who has more than 4 bags of shopping (as its easier to load your car!!) haha
