Is this the last boxer built? I know of a prunia coloured boxer that is documented as the last boxer built and its in canada, not the US. What's the scoop? I might be able to get the chassis number tomorrow.

51257 is the chassis number, the car is prunia in color and claimed to be the last one built with documents and so forth. Im sure there is something special about this car in that there is paper work saying the air box covers are painted body color rather than black and possibly the only one painted this color as well. Not sure, anyone know?

Well, it's not the last one built - that's for sure. There are about 75 after that. Last no. I have is 53657 - white with tan int.
If anyone has any different info please let me know as this will be going in my 'Ferrari Boxer' book which should be published in the middle of next year, and I'd like it to be right.

Pardon my possible ingnorance but how do you figure 75 cars between #51257 and #53657? Were the cars not numbered in sequence? Are you sure about #536557?

The numbers are sequential but shared across models....so Boxers were in with other current cars.....

    Hi Steve
I think you got one too many 5s in there - 53657. As Big Tex says "The numbers are sequential but shared across models....so Boxers were in with other current cars....." so 53657 is the best I've got at the moment - until/unless I hear any different.

Yep I just typed a extra 5 by mistake. I did not know the Boxer shared sequence numbers with the other cars. Thanks for the info. Looking forward to a Boxer book. Seems like not much out there. There was suppose to be a "The Original Flat Twelve" book but that seems to have never been published.

I have another question. Who knows what date the last BBi was made ? How about a month if not an exact date.

    Nathan,

I have commented on this subject before, if you look at the "How many Boxer Owners Etc"....

#53657 is definitely NOT a Boxer, It is a 308 GTB QV.

The last Boxer ever produced is #52935 and is currently located in the US, owned by a collector.

I have details on all 387 of the 365BB's and most of the 512's too, if you need any further help PM me - I want your book to be accurate too, It would make a nice change to some of the dros that is published.

There are actually 73 cars from #51257 to the last Boxer #52935.

The sequence is shared with 308's QV and 288 GTO Production.

Remember, too, that they were only using odd numbers for road cars in those days.

Argento is Steve275, Boxer512, Seb King etc. The evidence is pretty conclusive (including posting from the same IP address!!! Claiming to own cars known to belong to other people etc.). Discussed in the UK section here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=121797

The moderators decided not to ban him for the time being unless he causes further trouble (I don't personally agree with that decision, but accept it).

He is clearly knowledgeable (and has a VERY large Ferrari database!) and it is a great shame he chooses to behave in the way he does when he could be a valuable member of the online Ferrari community. However, I recommend you treat information he posts with caution, especially when it concerns his claimed ownership of various Ferraris.

    Jonathan et al,

Look I have explained to the moderators what happened. I am not the person who did this and I do not have to prove anything further to you or anyone else, nor will I, I know the truth and that's good enough for me. You and others seem to be hell bent on hounding me from posting on this site - so be it, I can lurk as easily as help. You seem far more content to read and participate in the rubbish that's posted in the UK section, as I said to Rob Hudson yesterday - I am here for 1 reason only, My love and passion for the Marque, Nothing more.

    Good Bye Argento

    Steven,

You certainly don't have anything to prove to me. It is not my decision. However, you did lie about owning a Daytona and 330 GTC and edited your profile to remove the Daytona (a well-known UK car owned by an FOC member) whilst I was watching and waiting for the Mods to respond. I am very sorry you don't choose to come clean because you could be a valuable contributor to this site and the Ferrari community rather than having everything you say mistrusted. I personally don't care whether you own a Ferrari or not. But I do care if you claim to own cars you don't.

I dealt with this matter in private with the mods at the time it arose and only participated on the UK section when others 'out-ed' you later.

    What a shame!
