My buddy was at that drive, not sure if you met him. Jonah Hirsch. He said it was absolutely incredible to drive this car.

Last time I was down at Symbolic I think they said you had to meet the following criteria:

    1. Be known well by the authorized dealership.
    2. Have an extreme interest in the car.
    3. Have enough money in your account to cover the cost of the car.

Then I believe to place an order you have to put a $300,000.00 deposit on the car and they will begin to build the car around you.

Not necessarily. You could simply be known by someone at the dealership and get a test drive. There are people who have no interest in the car and I'm sure test drove it. These cars have 25,000+ miles on them, and they're Bugatti's. If a client of a dealership wants to check it out for the hell of it I'm sure they'd oblige.

The original plan was to combine two vr6 motors instead ferry porsche decided to combine two W8 VW motors and slap 4 turbos and charge over one million dollars aahahah :)

BTW the 914 might hang on the track hahahah jk

Actually it looks like the original plan would've been a W18 engine which they made for the 18/4 concept back in the late 90's.

I drove one this morning. Very impressive GT car. Engine is very strong massive torque. Red line is 6500 so it's a bit different from high revving motors like Ferrari's. Super brakes and gearbox.

IMO it's very important to test drive any car you may be considering as it's the only way to tell if it's for you.

Thanks to Bugatti of Greenwich for the drive!

They've delivered three and have two being built. If anyone on the East Coast is seriously interested PM me and I'll put you in touch.

ferry porsche decided NUTTIN`!!! he died years before the veyron was even planned. mastermind and creator of that car was ferdinand piech, the brain behind the mighty porsche 917 and today CEO of Volkswagen.

I was only kidding. I've been in a Veyron, heard em, just never driven one. From what I've heard, it's definatly worth it.

No not me. I was saying if he wanted me to arrange a ride he'd better be serious about buying one.

If I were to get one I'd mod it a bit. I think something that looked like a Speed 8 mounted on that chassis would be pretty cool. If I did that I'd go for green...

The yellow 914 in the first picture is more interesting to me actually.

I've heard that the veyron is neither at home on the track nor on the street. Would you agree with that assessment? I know many supercars don't like the track, but the veyron seems to reach a new low. It may be great in a straight line, but a 1.3M car has to offer more than a name and temporary bragging rights. IMHO, of course.

Personally, I'd be nervous about ordering one since the company has already announced that they won't make any money on this model anyway. It was more of an experiment on various levels.

I wouldn't be nervous about ordering one. VW stands firmly behind Bugatti and it's an engineering marvel. It's defineately not a track car. It's more like an aircraft for the road. A Super GT car. My only criticism is that the nav system is a bit home brew and the speedo is a bit to small.

It doesn't have the "edge" of P 4/5 it's a hammer not a knife if that makes any sense.

VW has already put a tremendous amount of money and work into the Bugatti marque to leave customers high and dry. On top of that, there are rumors of a suped-up Veyron as well as a saloon to round out Bugatti's line-up.

Speaking of navigation, I've never seen any photos of it in action. IIRC it's built into the rear-view mirror, correct?

Yes but as someone had stolen the PDA that runs it it was able to work in the one I drove.

    Best
