Are you holding a Dino party sometime?
I know many Dino aficianados have been following this thread and local Dino friend, Mark, has even mentioned it would be nice to get the Dino crowd to travel to see it.

Dear OMGJON, I can't wait to see more pics and to see this car done. It is going to be like new. When are you going to paint it? What color is it going to be? Yellow? If you have already answered this question in this long thread, I apologize.

Not much work done this week. I spent most of the week in LA. I did find a cad plater there and so I went through all of my tubs trying to find everything that still needed cad plating since the one in San Diego burnt down. I took one big box up there and should have it back in a week. It kind of ruined my system because now I will have to figure out where it all goes rather than doing a little at a time. I did take the rear hubs apart as they needed to go to the plater. They are block sanding the final corner of the body, so paint soon. How do I restore the Fuel vapor filter? Powder coat or yellow cad? or what.

Are you using Verne's plating in Gardenia, LA on El Segundo Blvd?
Lots of show cars use his

... but then again, you aren't going concours - right?

No, it was a place right off I-5 and Olympic Blvd. right up against the train tracks. It looks like they do big volumes of stuff.

Thank you. I'm having difficulty finding mine and appreciate any help, perhaps the black GTS is closer to mine.

I found both the numbers. I'll take a photo soon. I haven't been able to do anything for the past 2 weeks as I'm in LA everyday and have 2 weeks to go.

Try directly under the distributor, on the engine block, not the timing cover. Its is a fine stamping on the cast iron block so any amount of dust will hide it.

During restoration of my Dino I found a number stamped on numerous parts, including interior trim, engine casings, suspension members, etc. (#387). It was as though they staged all of the inventory parts for a particular car, stamped a number and then used these parts to assemble.

I too found a number stamped on a variety of body parts. I've been told it was my car's assembly number (220) and this number differs from my chassis number (00542). I'm guessing my car was the 220th Dino built (150 206GTs followed by 70 246GTs).

    Engine number right?
7 digit flanked by two stars, found directly under the distributor. Probably hidden from view by the oil filter.

It's been a while since I posted anything, I've been traveling from San Diego to LA everyday now for 3 1/2 weeks. I should be done next wednesday and then back to the car. I did pick up some cad plating I had done while I was in LA. I'll tell you what I've been up to next week.

I'll get the name, but is was right off Olympic Blvd and 1 block south of Downey St. right next to the railroad tracks. 3 day turnaround, big operation, super nice guy, no parts lost!
