Just a curious thought. How much does insurance run for your exotic?

    Thanks

$650/yr with Hagerty, that's for top liability limits, comprehensive, $250 ded, and $80K agreed value on '64 330 2+2. I get 2.5K miles/yr and reasonable use limitations...it's OK for my needs.

I think it would be more helpful if age goes with the rates quoted. Younger chatters might get the wrong idea.

I'm 40 and it runs about $1000/yr for the F-car.

42yo, maximum discounts for all items: 348 is $3,200 a year. If I was younger and didn't get the discounts would be over $7k.

No competition allowed up here - Insurance Corporation of BC is it :(

I'm told the 348 is as much to insure as a 360 or 430 - but haven't run the numbers.

Why not? Ferraris cost alot more to replace than your average GM or Ford hack. Plus they are fast performance cars and people think they are Schumacher behind the wheel alot of the times and crash these cars. Thats why they you pay through the nose. But some quotes here are very reasonable if you ask me. Except for zakeen's and tjacoby 348 quotes. :p:p

I pay ~$2300/year on an econobox with a 20% discount (included, it would have been almost $3000 without them!) and no tickets or accidents. I do fall in the worst insurance group (young males), though. This is in Philadelphia.

This question comes up a lot, but really has very little use to anyone, other than to show us where we maybe dont want to live. Our age, driving record, house mates, marrital status, credit rating, and our location, have much greater influence on what we pay than what kind of wheels we drive. Our son is paying over four times what I pay on the 308, for basic liability to drive a beater. The 308 is fully insured with a 500 deductible and full glass with roadside assistance. He complains its not fair, but I just smile and say I have no tickets or accidents in over 10 years. One more ticket and he will be paying over $2500 year for liability only. Makes a big difference.

For the record, im 48. 308 costs about $550 year. Haggerty quoted $360 online but when I spoke to them they wanted almost $500, not much less than my AAA insurance. I live in rural Minnesota and the car is the second pleasure use only car. The other is a MB 380 SL, about $320 year for that one.

yeah, $3,200 is a lot to pay for a year - but it includes MV registration, the cost of the plates, and I get to pay for two weeks of a govt worker's wages for two weeks :D

I believe the BBi I was considering was only $1,200 a year, and there's no breaks up here for 2nd or 3rd cars.

Thanks James - good to know an upgrade doesn't cost anymore insurance - but that's nuts: a 430 and 348 in the same rate class?

Geico quoted me $314/6 months based on 5K/year(not restricted just based on) I'm 40, no negative history and this was for a single car(I've not ever used them). I thought that was pretty good. Still looking into Farmers and a few others.
