    Hmmm........here you go. :)

    Front 245/40 ZR17
    Rear 335/35 ZR17

I would love to know how much a rear F40 tyre would have cost in the late 80's. Big rubber back then, ever now! Do you care to answer PP?? Or did you never get change any tyres in your F40 back then? :)

That would seem a very conservative figure to me.

That OHOS 599 already have a 710 leak?
(I know its a front engined V12 before anyone mentions it. :))
Are they 2 little lights on the back there? Did anyone get a close look at them or ask about them? Are they factory fitted lights or just for the rally?

Thankyou for the swift reply PP. Was that alot in comparison to 'normal' car tyres in 1990? :)

I was just kidding. It would have been nice to know the 'correct' figure. But would be hard to know for sure, I agree with that. :)

Good to see the Petherbridge Daytona still being campaigned in anger, he's a regular at this event.

The owner of the black Pantera also has a silver HK Monaro that was a works London-Sydney car. Now with 500hp, he drives it on gravel and bitumen with equal verve. Very nice bloke and a good pedaller.

No BB's in sight - must be too much flex :D

Can you please explain what a 'works London-Sydney' car is Ian? :)

    (sigh) So young....

London to Sydney Marathon, 1968. Roger Clark in Lotus Cortina lead most stages but came 10th due to mechanical issues. Won by a Hillman Hunter after Citroen DS crashed near the end. Falcon GT came 3rd. 3 x 327 Monaros entered, one driven by David McKay (of original Scuderia Veloce fame).

Photo is Twelfth Place - Barry Ferguson in Holden GTS Monaro

Geoff Petherbridge must have lashed out on some new tyres! I recall at the 1998 Rally in Perth there was discussion with the scrutineers about the state of his 'track' tyres and he proved them right by blowing a rear tyre in a big way...
