    Fellas,

It's looking like to get a good low mileage 512TR in the UK, I am looking at £45-50k, which is 66-74k euros. A stretch and over the budget.

In the UK a lhd spider is still £60k+ (88,000 Euros) - definitely more than Zoe will let me spend!!!

What is the pricing of 360M and 360 Spiders in Europe currently? Could I import a lhd spider for under 75k euros? If so this has to be a consideration.

    Thanks for any advice,

    Marc

    Marc,

A 360 under 75k euro will be a high milage 360. My dealer in Belgium sells a 360M with 80.000 km for 75.000 euro. You can find the car at www.monza-motors.be
    Spiders start at 95k euro.

Is this car local to anybody? I am interested - initially I always fancied a black 512TR and the mileage is very low on this. Also it has a sports exhaust. It looks EVIL!

The cheaper 550's have a significant higher milage.
This brings out an interesting discussion. Are Modern Ferrari's with a high milage still reliable?

    Hey Ferraristi,

Nice to meet all of you, I'm new to the forum! I see there are a lot of issues , very tempting to spend day and night at the pc! Value of recent and classic Ferraris is a very difficult matter to start with! Since 2002 I am the very happy owner of an absolutely stunning 328 GTS. To be honest I looked for ages until I found one in such good shape, all I want to say is: how demanding are we when we are out there to realize a dream?
First of all, there is the matter of trust, all of us have heard 1000 stories about our loves not being reliable, most of us now that reliability has to do with perfect and regular maintenance, older ferraris , for instance of the 60's and 70's, might be a little more fragile. Nevertheless, a good mechanic knows how to handle those machines in order to be totally trouble-free! Many friends from several Ferrari-clubs do trust the official dealers, they are expensive, true ,but their circle is too small to give you bad service...
Second: what's on the market? Some real perfect beauties, almost always for a rather high price, low mile-age, full dealership history. On the other side we find, unfortunately, many, I insist on MANY badly maintained Ferraris. Often having had something like 5 to 7 owners for a 308 GTB is not a good sign! Even for a low price like 20 000 Euro it's waisted money, to bring those cars back to a nice shape , meaning a complete overhaul for engine and gearbox, plus probably small to rather big bodywork repair, you'll spend far more money then if you would buy that same car in great condition! That is why those "unreliable" Ferraris remain ... unreliable!
Does that mean that any Ferrari even with 150 000 km on the clock and 3 previous owners is a bad one? Not at all, again maintenance is the keyword. Actually you can be pretty secure if the car has a full service history, if you know the previous owner it helps! Also don't forget a car can be ruined with 20 000 km on the clock when badly driven, blast off with a cold engine is fatal! Believe me, some idiots do such thing...
Third: ALWAYS have a look at the underside of the car, some machines look shiny and breathtaking on top, go down below, you might be surprised of what you find...
Last hint: take your time , if you look for it, you WILL find the Ferrari of your dreams, anything less is and will remain disappointing!
By the way, Ton Visser, I think we met at the Ferrari-tour in Knokke, last summer,( I'm a friend of Joren Remans) , I think I remember your 512TR. A few days ago I spoke to Joren about travelling to Maranello for the 60th Birthday Celebrations of Ferrari, from local people I heard it would be promising! A huge qeue of Northern European Ferraris, heading Ferrari-Mekka would be great, wouldn't it?
    FORZA FERRARI!

In the pc where I am now, no; But I believe in the series of photos of the Knokke-tour there were some made by some FerrariChatters, I believe some guy called zwoemba, at least I remember having seen them on this FerrariChat-site , yesterday. My license number is HPM 107, I'm sure you can find me!
