That was at the bottom of Knotts Hill Rd (i think) and turning into Hunters Rd, all part of the Montacute leg IIRC.

I got there around 8am and managed to get a good spot with a bunch of other guys after we convinced the marshalls to let us get in closer. We had to tackle a few barbed fences and all that sitting on the fence has given me haemeroids...but it was fun nonetheless :D

Was driving down Goodwood Rd. and got to the corner of Greenhill Rd. when I spotted a trailer truck with a couple of Classic Adelaide cars on the back. One was a pretty badly damaged old car, not sure what, and the other an old Porsche missing a large section of the front...so I'm guessing not everyone had such a good day out.

Well, what a blast! The last day had the longest stage of the event (Paris Creek) and the whole thing finished with a brilliant stage from Clarendon to Coromandel.

It is a fantastic event. Beforehand I imagined I would be chugging along with an occasional blast to 130 km/h. Within about 15 minutes, I realised I had it all wrong. In the class I was in (Thoroughbred) everyone seemed to be giving it their best right from the start. It felt like we were close to flat out everywhere. The organisation was excellent and totally professional (apart from some fairly dodgy catering in places) - on the road there was little to complain about. I thoroughly recommend the experience! :D

On hindsight I should have crossed the road to go to the other side. Well, there's always next year...unless I decide to participate :D Spirited driving with no fear of fines or demerit points for 4 days makes $6k worth spending :D

I had a great Classic Adelaide trip... "my" two Ferrari 308 GTB owners both had a ball... The Gilliver 308 was the ONLY Ferrari in the whole competition, and won category and class again, the rest were in touring... and the yellow 308 seemed pretty happy with his event too!

My Evotickling was a real eye opener too... Ralliart Co driver and Logistics "enigma" Linda Long ran the show, the car was superbly built by Les Walkden Racing and ran near perfectly with only one minor clutch niggle which was cleared up easily.

Allan LOVED it, and really raved about the car. His Co driver Ben Searcy has co driven several top names and won many events and he was pretty impressed too... he had a couple of high speed "jesus" moments but Allan never misplaced a wheel or missed a shift the whole event... Bens opinion is now confirmed that a good driver is a good driver, regardless of track/rally background.... as many have/had opposing views.. but it's early days... only one event run so far for Allan.....

Despite the new car/new driver/new crew combo, Allan and Ben were typically faster than the leaders over every stage, some not for sure, but overall averaged perhaps 1.5 sec/km faster than Broadbent... of course, a Modern car like the Evo would be though, but Rex and Jim both gave highly favourable "considered" comments regarding what they would have done in their modern cars.

well it was an interesting event, with the euphoria of prologue to the windscreen issue and in 2.5 hours having a new one fitted and with new rubbers, team chiavare racing aka fat bastard racing aka team goober we were back in the hunt (with a C)

seman was a great navigator, only a couple of balls ups but overall a great effort. washed the car every morning at 7 am, bought beers, more washing and more beer.

the car is the best or wildest thing that we have driven (goober/ ash)
it is so easy to point and go, and once the TC is removed the dynamics change completely. this thing is a treat with the TC off, it handles so well, GP had better tyres and his ride height suited better, for the suncoast i will have semi slicks on and lower by 15mm, the fuel ecomomy was fantastic, and the sheer power of the thing from 873rpm to 8500 it just went like stink.

i've got some official pics and for phil and PP some pics of the car airborne just so u blokes dont think i ***** footed around
