Do you really feel the need to have everyone like your car?

Or is it enough that you do?

Who really cares what he thinks.

Of course its not a real ferrari, it looks just like every other car on the road, and has that common 12 cylinder motor that buicks have. Its the porsche 914 of the ferrari world. I think it was designed by FIAT...

    retarded

With a Dino or a new Maser at least you have some arguement but with their flagship model from 1985 until the F40 came out.

    Thats just dumb

Echos of Frank Parker, who espouses the adage (according to Enzo himself) that a true Ferrari has a V12, IN FRONT. The rest are Fiats, including, he admits, his Boxer.

I wonder if this is his dual identity?

I think this guy needs to look at some of the newer models that sport an abundance of plastic in the interiors.

i liked the part about "it can only go 290 km max, instead of the F40 as 320 km" yeah, it really bothers me when i top out at 290km/hr on the freeway. i mean, dude, i get to work sooo much faster if i could break the 300 mark....

And you forgot to say that you have one ath almost every corner on the street....I have 7 ath home, one for every day of the week,in a different color...The Testarossa is the Ferrari for the poor,as is the 924 for Porsche...
In fact,it is even the cheapest Ferrari in maintenace and you can get second hand parts almost for free!!
That engine is a F.I.R.E. engine:Fully Integrated Robotised Engine, made by Fiat...But hey, what do you want, even Lambo put tractor engines in their cars...!

    You're right dude!
I have tha same problem:when driving my Testaroosa @ 290km/h max speed, even 70 year old grandmothers in 1983's Ford Escorts are passin' me by...in the owner's manual it is clearly written in red:"this is the car for the poorest or the poor-dude Ferrari owner wannabe." Here in Europe you can win a Testarossa every week in a tombola in most of the commercial centres...When I bought mine new,tha dealer gave me a 55% discount on it....
    Wake up Julian!!
Stop smokin' and floor the pedal in a TR,then come see us again.....
    Speedman.
PS Who said a TR can't go further then 290km/h????

    I agree Speedman.

I've seen 187 mph come up on my speedo twice now. In closed road, controlled conditions obviously, and definately not on the M6 heading North to Carlise, UK!

My calculation puts that at 299.33 km/ph.

And yes, I was pissed I couldn't get the last 1/2 a mile per hour out of it to hit the magic 300 figure.

But, there will be a next time.

No mate, it's a UK spec with no cats and a Tubi. I just ran out of road, and maybe nerves just a little. I'd only had it three days and was just getting used to it. Crept up after sitting on 140 for 15 or 20 miles, just slowly to keep the feel. She felt great so pushed a bit further.

When it arrives in Oz in three weeks I will have to fit a complete USA spec 512TR exhaust with cats to get it thru compliance and rego, then it's back to the Tubi for sure.

Now that's cool. Looks like 312 km/ph to me.

Wish I knew how to download and save that one.

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

Rob,go in your browser, click on "favorites",and then on top of your list choose the "add" or "submit" option...I don't know what O.S. you work with, but it shoudn't be difficult...
If I may make a suggestion:why don't you make yours(footage) with your own TR...? Should be fun!

With a 110 km/ph speed limit on the largest freeways in Australia, 300 would be lock him up and throw away the key.

The only time I'll get to see speeds again will be on track days and I might be a bit busy to take video.

The days in the UK may have been a once in a lifetime oportunity.

I'm using XP Pro, so shall give it a try. Thanks mate.

Adding to Favorites only added a shortcut link to the page containing the video file. No way to actualy download that clip so it's stored on the hard drive.

    Worth a try though. Thanks.

    As the story goes........................

A friend stops by one Saturday afternoon, shortly after I bought my dream.....a 1987 TR.............He watches as I fiddle with this and that on the TR and continually for an hour questions, "What the hell was I thinking buying a vehicle such as this, that doesn't handle, accelerate, nor brake as well as his new Z06 Vette!".............After politely asking him if he was finished with his monologue, I explained to him what my position was concerning his Z06 vs. Ferrari "arguement", with two worthwhile and quite convincing facts......................

    1. In 5 years you will own a second hand Chevy, I will own a Ferrari.

    2. Now that you are humiliated, please go to fridge and grab us a couple of Buds.

    He agreed and retrieved..................Nuff said.

That's terrible. Why Budweiser? He didn't deserve that kind of treatment. :(

You could've mentioned the upcoming Z07 Vette, which will make the Z06 the retirement home shuttle. ;)
