This has got to be some scam? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-Ferrari-F355-GTS-F1-Coupe-Very-Low-Price_W0QQitemZ230053042460QQihZ013QQcategoryZ6212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Yep. Photos and description stolen from this ad for a dealer in Indiana: http://www.collectorcartraderonline.com/addetail.html?86199188 Anything on ebay motors that references a pre-approved bidder is normally a scam
I asked to be placed on his buyers list so I can mess with him real bad... Also contacted Ooley & Blackburn(where the real car is) and told them...
Same seller, same eBay scam, different car this time... http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124347
What do these people do?? Expect someone to send them 50-70k and that's it??? And he runs with the money---Is someone that stupid to just send this tool a bunch of dough??
Yep, They always have some sad excuse as to why it is so cheap!! Then they say the car is somewhere else. I messed with one of these crooks before... he felt like an idiot after I told him I will send him a "cashiers" check with $10k more if he would just deliver the car to the trucking yard for shipping......etc... just like those phoney phishing scams where some buyer offers to send you more than you are asking for your troubles.... The first thing to ask him for is a copy of the title with vin # and a picture of the vin plate for comparison......soon you will hear crickets..... I know, I had time to kill....LOL
Those are the famous Nigerian scams. The sad part is that they keep doing this and at some point, they will get this one person who actually falls for it. As one politician during Reagan's administration once said: "This damn Nigeria is so corrupt it would be best to bomb the **** out of it!". LOL
eBay's going to get itself burned in a large class action lawsuit if it doesn't start verifying cars/ownership eventually. Ferrari does this just to be given a freaking **password** to access the Ferrari owners' website...a website that doesn't even make them any money. Ferrari verifies that you own your car by doing a title search. If Ferrari can perform this verification from Italy for using a mere free website, then U.S. company eBay has no excuse for not verifying cars/ownership here in the U.S.
email received from this tool today--- Hello, This 1999 Ferrari F355 GTS F1 Coupe is a great car, never implied in any accident, in excellent condition. There is no damage on this vehicle. My job put me on the way to US and I bought this car there. Now I have to sell it as I've got back home in UK, Europe. As you know I need a right hand drive vehicle here. The car is located and registered in US. The final price is $50000. All documents, including clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the car. The transaction will be made under eBay's protection plan for our safety. Your funds will be 100% insured by Ebay who will hold your payment until you receive and test the car. You will have 15 days from the time you receive the vehicle to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not. If you are interested in buying it please provide me your full name, address and eBay user id so I can initiate the deal through Ebay. I'm a serious man and I prefer to deal only with a serious buyer. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards, Tan I sent a email stating I want to see the car in person as soon as I can because I have cash in hand---we will see what happens next..
Where ever he says the car is...act surprised and say you have a good friend about 10 minutes from there!! He can see it for you just let you know when!!
Oh yeah...it was for sure the same guy. I was in contact with him about the 360 and pulled the carfax, it was clean. Never saw a vin plate on vehicle as i had asked. The whole deal was a scam, and they continue to do it on ebay for soem retarded reason. ebay needs to clean this up or they are going to be in deep kimche one of these days...
----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: Tan Nguyen Sent: Tuesday, November 21, 2006 1:38 AM Subject: Re: Question for item #230053042460 - Ferrari I am very interested and would like to go see the car in person. Please let me know how I can make those arrangements.
The vehicle is in showroom condition and was never involve in any accidents. It has no damage or flood or anything like this. It also has a clear title. The bidding for this vehicle is preaproved and can't be unblocked. I will complete the bill of sale and after that I will provide a copy to eBay and start the transaction. As I told you in my previous e-mail, we just went back to UK. The reason why I'm selling it for such a low price are: I cannot use it in UK, I don't need it anymore, I am not trying to make any money out of this sale and it is pretty difficult for me to sell a vehicle from US if I am in UK. One of my friends will handle the shipping, but I cannot ask him to meet all interested customers. I must tell you that I have lots of interested customers (as you can imagine, at this low price) and if you want to buy this vehicle we will make the deal through eBay. After I will have the payment confirmation I will make all the shipping arrangements and you will receive the car in no more than 7 days. ebay will provide you the details where you have to send payment. When I'll have their confirmation that you sent the money to them, I'll arrange the shipping right away. After you'll receive the car and the papers you'll have a 15 days acceptance period. ( that means you'll have 15 days to inspect them and let ebay know, whether you keep the vehicle or not). I trust my car's condition and hopefully you'll keep it. The car was verified, so from my point of view you'll decided to keep it without any reserve. After those 15 days if you announce ebay you'll keep the car, they'll transfer the money into my bank account. Otherwise (if the car or the papers will have any problem) you'll be refunded and I'll be responsable for taking back the vehicle. Since I'm the one that came with the ideea of using eBay, I'll pay the fees. So the only way to make this deal is if you will accept to deal using eBay's services. If you want to be the owner of this vehicle you must accept my terms. As you know eBay is the best company of online transactions and your money are safe with them. They won't release payment until you will confirm that you are in possession of the vehicle. If you want you can go and pick up the vehicle, but ONLY after eBay will confirm that they received payment in their bank account. With your permission and confirmation that you are ready to buy this vehicle I will contact eBay and start the transaction and they will get back to you with transaction details, Invoice and Payment Information in 24 hours after that. You will have to send payment to eBay's bank account using a bank account transfer and they will hold it until you will receive the vehicle. Please e-mail me with your eBay user id, full buyer's name and address if you are ready to start the transaction and to send payment to eBay. I'll wait for your decision, Tan What's my next step guys - any real way to mess with this guy bad??
Wow this guy is making the transaction complicated! I especially love the part where he misleadingly says: "As you know eBay is the best company of online transactions and your money are safe with them." I hope everyone realizes that eBay does not process the transaction, so they never even see or touch your money. There are so many ways to mess with this guy. I would tell him that you have secured the funds and ask him if he can quickly point you to the language on eBay's website that states that you have a 15 day acceptance period. As soon as he has done so, you can start the transaction process. Mention the fact that you're very excited to buy the car at this low price.
