oh, you meant oil temp, not pressure... yeah, they're 5h1t too!

Curiously, some last for ages and some kark it straight away... buy a dozen and keep 'em handy. You can't change them easily though... so rig up a 100 ohm resistor to fit and it'll turn the dash alarm off until you're ready to fit new.

F1 pump cooling... the snorkel was dumped as it ruins the wing efficiency...

I cut louvres in several cars... but the new pumps are fine anyway...

Pump temp is from heat soak, not traffic as such.

Check SD2 clutch solenoid drain value.. if excessive, pump over works. You can "guess" it by just listening to how often the pump cycles while selecting gears with engine off.. if you don't have SD2

    Doh!

It CAN be ok to run without.... but they sure come in handy occasioanlly...

    always gear problems...

I'm still baffled by what you said about the throttle settings... who told you that crap?....

Every time isolator turned off, just restart without touching anything and allow to idle for ~8 sec, repeat 3 times and this'll sort out all number of initialisations........

It's also good to occasionally idle IN 1st GEAR for about 5 min... this makes sure PIS position is well callibrated..

PIS position is not in the karma sutra, it's the clutch biting point.

we were told by people in adelaide that once the throttle is touched it needs to be programmed by compooter (dealer in adelaide)
Mario G who was with the 599 was an immense help, he went through the procedure about on off 15 sec here etc and it worked, my mechanic even rigged up a metal arm so that the throttle is linked to the front of the 5mm allen key area in front of the seat, prob good for transporting to QLD next year.

no need for anything like that... they're fail safe... the only reason a 360C needs special attention is because the isolator is so often messed with, a 360M needs same treatemnt, but not usually turned off so much...

just leave isolator on all day, only turn it off over night (to stop F1 pump cycling...360M needs door opened, 360C bypassed door circuit), and do the re-learn thing each day..

note.. water needs to be between 30 and 80 to re-learn... so if really cold or hot, you'e wasting time/effort.

ok here's some quick pics of car was nav for..

I *know* this is f-chat and we're in a 911 if you look carefully at shot of me holding my red helmet (right colour for starters) you will see discreet F sticker, one of the stage officials even said "nice helmet"!..

We ran GPS based system using 8" touch screen which was successful and will be using V2.0 for next year and will have very compact in-car package.

Couldn't resist pics of cheesy grin and awards..we did well enough with 29th outright which good considering we were running in standard spec class and I was rookie nav and Mark tidy driver but by nature also conservative and safety conscious.

We'll be back next year.. I'll do nav again but over same time will look into what car to run for year after as driver..

Hope you guys enjoyed it all.. I certainly did!

One thing that did surprise me was how some spectators chose to stand/sit in precisely the spot where a car would end up if it lost control on the corner. It's a wonder the sweep cars don't move them on.

yep. tour packet 2 lead car. hit a stobie pole and caused a mates tr8 to clip the back of a datsun 1600. oh, and all caught on film by a 944 turbo. that driver wont be invited back. we went past about 2 minutes after it happened. girl pax had neck and back injuries - unconfirmed, just what we heard from the other tour leaders.

My thoughts would be to keep the 30mm ride height and just pinch any new semi-slick tyres from GP's car. During the CA, Goober's car rarely grounded, but GP's car looked to be shedding various bits of undertray in the form of dust on some of the transport stages. My thoughts are that some of the Qld roads likely to be used at Noosa would make the rough stages of the CA (Hindmarsh Falls and Piccadilly) seem like highways in comparison. The extra ride height coming in useful.

Goober, invest in a helmet intercom too. It was very worthwhile even in the relative quiet of the M5 and will made a huge difference in your car.

..and here's part of the notes being called ahead by the GPS system as moving through the stage.

For next year will have full recon, and notes mapped and rated metre by metre and many useful options for displays..

absolutely correct.. The proflex on Goobers car allow a higher ride height/travel than the Ohlins on GP's car..... but go to Mallala with a track height/set up and the ohlins will be the ones to have without doubt....

What made you chose those Falken POS you were running anyway?

We used Bridgestone RE55Ss on the Evo... and we were the ONLY comp speed car using the hard compound ones.... Medium would have been fine for CA... but not for Targa where you do double the km...

I'd go for them or Dunlops.
