Premium over MSRP

What is the current premium over on a new 599GTB F1 assuming there was one out there?

 

Until the first one sells at premium, we are not going to know what that premium really is.....

 

I'm gonna guess $150K to $200K over.

 

That would put it at near $500k, WOW!

 

That's the rumor I'm hearing from my sources.

 

Not doubting you by any means, but that puts it in some VERY respectable company. Company that won't (eventually) depreciate at the same rate.

Anyone know how many 599s are planned and how long the model run is to be?

not that i have any basis for saying, but i am very suspicious of auctions like this. i think this is a scam to one degree or another.

 

I had a dealer offer from a flipper
at 90 over msrp - 5 weeks out.

as built w / options - no build list

 

my guess is 100K, its only a guess, i have been around exotics for years and watched them all. I dont see it being more than that, and I dont think it will stay at 100 for more than 6-8 months then it will settle in at around 50-75 and stay there. This is a gut feeling, i'll remember this and when i'm right i'll revive this therad.

 

I done some searching yesterday in my spare time to see if any dealers in the UK had any 599GTBs arriving.

There was one company with a very high spec 599GTB in Black (Cream interior, sports seats, CCB, CS wheels, Bluetooth, Nav... - a huge list), which was due in around mid December. Must be one of the first few UK order cars. As i understand, a very high spec 599GTB with most the options is about £220k, they wanted £250k and viewing by appointment only when it arrives.

Its around what i was expecting the Premium to be, as i was thinking £240-£270k (at a push).

Would make a nice Christmas present though!

I don't agree. This is more sport and less GT car than the Maranello, and I think as a result there is much more demand for it.

 

No way. There's exceptional demand for this car, and it will be commanding hefty premiums or significant waits for at least 2 years (assuming the economy keeps humming along like it is...)

Well, that's today's "market price". I'm sure someone jumped in at that price. I think the premiums probably will drop to levels more like that of the F430 in the next 6-12 months, but for right now it's the "it" car, and the premiums will reflect that.

I agree with you too Marty -- I would've passed too, but I enjoy the wait and anticipation, and the financial wisdom of paying MSRP....

 

I disagree. I have a 575M and a 599. The 599 is just the next step in developement for Ferrari. The 575 is still a great car and always will be. Much more than a Daytona ever was, and being discounted to the Daytona market. Everyone is sleeping on these cars.
The 599 is also great. The F1 transmission finally works

As I understand LA Auto Gallery airfreighted their first one in and it went for an even $500 to a very happy buyer

I agree re the 575. A truly great car that did everything right. I replaced mine with a Superamerica where the enjoyment quotient increased due to the convertible top and the improved F1. It is my daily driver and is still the best car Ferrari have made ever. I am looking forward to the 599 and I'm sure that it is even better based on the reviews to date, but it doesn't change the fact that the 575 is one heck of a fine car!

 

My point is that the 575 is to 599 as the Lusso is to 250 SWB. The 599 is lighter and more powerful.

That's ridiculous! The 250SWB was a competition car, of which some were driven on the street. Where, exactly, is the 599 going to be competing? Which series, again?

Frankly, a valid comparison would be 599 as the Lusso, while the 575 is the 250 PF Coupe.
